if my memory serves me right, neither of them. Sylvester and the Coyote were trying to ruin the race and they end up wining.

Yep! That cartoon was called "The Wild Chase". Featuring Sylvester, Speedy Gonzalez, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner altogether.
