Default Gerdie's statement at the end of the dinner party episode...

was so ludicrous. So what? she is gonna complain to Social Security abt the money she gets and having $$$ deducted because she earns money on the side??? Social Security is not going to change their rules for her and a group of old people complaining. The rules are the rules and procedures. It's not something that can be changed by walking into the Social Security office and complaining.
Nowadays, you can have an income and receive Social Security, it's called SSI (Supplemental Income).

Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to voice your opinion and let them know that you're pissed. It may not change anything but at least she'll have the satisfaction of knowing that she told them off.

Satisfaction, IMO, only comes from knowing that you made some kind of impact. Those people at the Soc. Sec. office don't care. They hear rambling like that all day long, it comes with the territory. I had to wait in the Social Security office two months ago for TWO HOURS and I heard complaint after complaint after complaint and when the people walked away, the employees just shrug and laugh it off. They don't tell their superiors or bosses. They just say: "next".

People get satisfaction in many ways, she could have told the SS what she thought and just the weight of that would be a relief. I could tell a person off and cuss them out, it might not faze them, but I would feel better LOL.

Gerdie was better off just taking the cash under the table and not reporting it. That would have been the ideal answer.

That meatloaf was tan with pinapples on it. Even if it wasn't dog food, I don't blame the Evans' for not eating it.

Realistically, yes. For laughs, the other line was better. But I get what you are saying. Florida was funny, the way her face was when she said it, like she didn't believe it herself that she was saying it.
