Question The case about the teenage boy killed...

In the first episode of Unsolved Mysteries, they showed a case of a boy who was an Orthodox Jew and had been killed at his school in New York. I don't remember his name.... There were few good leads on this case, and nobody would talk. Does anybody have anymore info on this case?
This was my first time seeing this case, and I thought it was pretty strange. Also really sad!

Also,
the case of the twins separated when they were 5-- any updates on that? I think their names were Martha and Robert?
I thought it was so sad how when Martha finally found the address to where her brother lived, it was the address of a homeless shelter where he hadn't been seen in for two years! I also felt so bad for the two of them because of their neglected childhood.

Any updates on either?

Yes, that was Ghaim Weiss. He was Jewish and apparently the killer or killers left his window open, a Jewish tradition in letting the soul depart the body. And, another teenager was seen sitting on a park bench near his school at 7 o'clock that morning. I saw that! They don't know if the teenager had anything to do with it.

Yes this crime is so baffling. They seemed to live in such a secure and sheltered environment and I can't imagine why he was targeted. I also wonder if the fact it was Halloween night had something to do with it. A lot of horrible crimes seem to happen then. His name was Chaim Weiss and I did find a few articles on him but none recent. (Can you believe he was murdered almost 20 years ago?) I'm not sure if UM mentioned this but it said he had been stabbed in the head, neck and face. It also said they found a knife in the back behind the dorms and at the time they were going to test it to see if it was the murder weapon. If it was the murder weapon I wonder if there were any fingerprints found on it that might help catch his killer.

I'm guessing he meant to emphasize that he saw that in the segment.

This is my top cold case I would love to see solved out of anything I ever saw on Unsolved Mysteries, though Bryan Nisenfeld is a close 2nd. I remember watching it when it first aired on NBC. It's about the last place one would expect there to be a murder.

I never thought about it being Halloween night! Stupid me!!!!!

Hmmm...that very well could've had something to do with it. I don't remember UM saying whether he was stabbed or not, but I do remember them mentioning the killer had moved the body a couple times.

You're right compulsivedvd, It is probably the last place one would expect there to be a murder.
