This question was asked. I always thought it was because her presence would help the interviewer understand that James wasn't JUST needing the work for himself. Moreover, I think James knew that Florida could motivate him to keep his temper in check as long as was needed instead of him just going hothead first thing!

I've said this many times. James wasn't too bright. And to ask the folks there to find Florida a small job like gift wrapping was even more bad. An average wife would've cussed him out right there on the spot. He was trying to make his wife out to be someone who doesn't know much. Now go figure that. Coming from the man with the 6th grade education.

Pure stupidity. No interviewer/potential employer would allow a family member to sit in on an interview. Stupid. The employer is in charge of the interview, not the potential employee.
