well i was in myrtle beach so it didnt effect me. but...my brother on the other hand (btw he is my half brother and he was 21 at the time and living at home, ((he and my dad dont really get along that well))):
He was playing PS2 and was listening to the radio and had a lot of stuff pluged into an outlet. we went outside to get the mail and when he came in, the lights were out. he started freaking out because he though he blew a fuse (or something, i dont really know what im talking about when it comes to this stuff) anyway he started freaking out and went to my grandpas house to see if his was out too and boy was he relieved when everybodys was out.

I was working during the blackout....I think the power went out around 4 o'clock. I remember all the customers in the store getting freaked out because everyone automatically assumed it was a terrorist related thing. After managing to close the store (with no lights or air-conditioning in the dead of summer...yeah, that was fun), I high-tailed it home. It was so weird not to have any functioning traffic lights. The worst part of it was that my best friend was driving out to NY from Ohio to visit me for a few days (just so happens the power had to go out all over the Eastern seaboard that day
) and got stuck on the Long Island expressway during all this commotion I felt sooo bad.

I had seen this fact so many times and I always wondered why there were so many on that date in 2004 as well...good question. It must have been a dead night on television. |

I'm skeptical about it... August 14, 2004 was a SATURDAY Afternoon in the middle of summer.
Blackout didn't affect me, but I had cable news on when it started. It was very strange at first trying to figure out what had happened. |
