Angry Darn That Damn Ebay!!!

I made a bid for a LaserDisc box set called The Art of Tom and Jerry, and the bidding started at $10.00 U.S. I made a $15.00 bid, and some knucklehead out bidded me at the last minute for $1.00. So he got the LaserDisc box set for $16.00.

Is that how most people bid at ebay?

I now learned my lesson if that's how things work on ebay!

That is how Ebay is like. I've lost things by being outbid by just a few cents. Sometimes I win things too by just a few cents. It's a malicious game.

Yep, that's how Ebay works. The best thing to do is find out when the bid ends and then just keep an eye out by constantly refreshing the page. You have to do it obsessively if you don't want to be outbid, unfortunately, for popular or most-wanted items.

I'm so mad, I can blow my top. Because that price was a great deal. Losing out on a bid for a measely old dollar. But I can't blame anybody else but me.

I learned that lesson the hard way.

Yes, you always bid in the last 5 minutes or so. You can always prebid, put in the most you want to pay, and it will automatically bid for you until that amount is reached.

They're called 'snipers'
swedeace iz right, you must keep refreshing and when it hits 30 seconds you must enter your highest bid. Let's say the current bid is $4.00. You're the high bidder. Put in the very highest amount you're willing to pay for the item, say $6.00 bucks. I have never lost an auction when I knew I was willing to pay 7,8 bucks for an item that's $4 with 30 seconds left. BTW your six dollar bid on that item that you're the current high bidder does not mean you are going to pay six bucks, unless sumone else bids $5.75 in that time. I've lost a lot of sh*t I wanted the exact same way as you Jenya . . . just try to remember to enter the very highest you are willing to pay within the last 30 seconds and you will never have the feelings you currently have, again.
