Are your favorite teams dictated by where you live or your hometown? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I am a native San Diegan. I am a huge fan of the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers. I have never considered having any other favorite team in the MLB or the NFL. I guess it's because I live in San Diego. Even when I move out next year when I transfer to a four-year university out of town, I will still be a Padre and Charger fan.

Are your favorite teams from where you live or your hometown?

I live near DC, but they are not my teams. I could care less about them.

Definitely my hometown. I don't think anything could make me not be a fan of any Minnesota based teams.

For the most part, yes. I am a fan of the New York Rangers and New York Yankees. But, I am also a fan of the New Jersey Nets and Tennessee Titans.

Uh huh. My loyalties will always lie with Detroit simply because it is my hometown. I'm not a hockey or baseball fan but whenever the Wings do well and if the Tigers were good, I cheer them on because they are my hometown teams.

Yes for me, with the Mets being my favorite baseball team and the Knicks being my favorite basketball team when they don't suck. I may root for or against other teams based on players I like or dislike on those teams.

As far as my football team, no, it's the Cowboys.

When they joined the league my dad adopted them and thus I grew up a Cowboys fan.

And I guess a stepbrother.

I was born in Maryland and raised in NC so being a Cowboy fan had nothing to do with my location. In fact most of the kids I grew up with were Redskin fans. But back in the 70's the best teams were The Cowboys and The Steelers and I just liked their whole organization from Tex Schramm, to Tom Landry right down to the players. I've followed them for 30 years.

As for The Terps, that has to do with the fact I was born in Maryland and I hated The Tarheels.

All of my favorite teams are Detroit teams. The only non-Michigan team I like is the Atlanta Braves.

No...because there aren't any major league teams in this state.

Basically, I guess, that leaves us with a choice of close locations...Kansas City, Minneapolis, or Chicago. However, I was raised to hate the Cubs.

I usually only get really excited about teams that are from the Pacific Northwest. We only have one pro team in Portland, so I also root for the Seattle teams as well. Mainly the Mariners, and Seahawks.
