...Let me get this straight: The guys wants to find Shirley a date to the party. Instead, Dwayne takes her (how about the studio audiences' reaction, "Ahhhhhh"). Rerun kisses her on the cheek and runs out of the soda shop and Raj wants her to accompany him to his senior prom? I think the writers were laying it on a little too thick, don't you think. Don't get me wrong. I understand the gesture. They wanted to do something nice for her, but Raj spending his money on a dating service just to find her a companion? The average teenager's attitude would've been "So what. If she can't find a man, who cares". I know that's what I woulda said
I think the only realistic thing was Rerun kissing her on the cheek and running out of the soda shop. You mean to tell me that out of all the pretty teenage females, I should feel sorry enough to take Shirley. I don't think so. |

It's called being a good friend and actually caring about someone. Just because Dwayne took Shirley to the party didn't mean that he was going to date her. Also It was sweet for Rerun to kiss Shirley on the cheek.
