What if this move was made during season 3? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Instead of Shirley moving in the Thomas House, have Bill move in with raj and Dee since he was the father and Shirley could have continue to be someone you only saw at the soda shop. Would it have worked?

Quite the interesting & intriguing scenario you bring up here, TVResearcher... Hmm.

In any case, though, and in all honesty, NO I don't think that would've worked if Bill Thomas had moved in with the family again (remember, Raj was living away in his college campus area during Season 3; he wasn't home anymore).

Dee and her father were never on good terms, and Bill had a tendency to be an on-again, off-again flirt player when it came down to dealing w/Mama (that is, if Mama were in Season 3, which of course she wasn't!).
There are several ways to look at this -- but it's an excellent scenario you bring up, there...

Yeah since Bill was married I don't think mabel would have liked the idea of another women and her Ex-husband living in her house with her kids.

I don't know about that, Mama did give the okay for them to get married in her house. Who knows, I'm glad Shirley moved in she deserved a bigger part.

Yeah she let him get married in her house, Not move in with his new wife and live. What kinda craziness is that? Plus Dee didn't get along too well with her dad and his wife.

They would have to have explained why Mama didn't live at the house anymore. Why would Bill be there if she was still around??

It was still Mabel's house, it doesn't matter if she was living there or not.
