Talking Which TV Network Do You Prefer to Watch the Olympic Games?

I love to ask this question on other forums.

CBC in Canada tends to cover the Olympics (both Summer and Winter) live and usually unedited.

NBC prefers to cover them only during prime time hours, and are often edited for commmercial sponsers.

Which network do you prefer to watch them on?

NBC, CNBC, and USA. I don't really care if they're edited down, (tho I do get irritated when they cut out the performing atheltes from EE countries) as long as I get to watch them, I'm satisfied.

I agree, the CBC and its French language counterpart SRC Olympic coverage is sooo much better than NBC or CBS from previous Olympics.

I don't like NBC's coverage of the OWG's and OSG's (Winter and Summer Olympic Games)
Therefore IMHO, CBC/SRC has a better coverage than NBC, live/delay taped

CBC is even way better than CTV.

CTV's coverage of the Olympics also relies on coperate sponserships, and shoves viewers with tons commercials too.

CTV also prefers to use tape delays and they also prefer to air their Olympic coverage during primetime hours as well.

All I can see is NBC, so I can't compare it. The long drawn out interviews and "Olympic Moments" as filler is annoying though.

Oh and my cable company didn't pay for the CNBC and MSNBC Olympics feed...

Like how they went on and on today about the American figure skater....wow, I thought he was the most arrogant/annoying athelete ever. And it didn't help that he had like a 10 minute spot, either.

Germany's ARD TV and the BBC provide good Olympics coverage if you have an international satellite dish.

America can never have quality Olympic coverage because commerical television is controlled by major corporations and public television will never be confused eith the BBC.

The International Olympic Committee has awarded the broadcasting rights to the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver and 2012 Summer Games to CTV (Crappy TV).
