OK don't go flaming me on this thread but as great as it was having them all together for the commentary and featurette, it was also uncomfortable for me to watch a lot of it. I thought it was a little like watching your parents fight, you just keep thinking "why do they have to fight, can't they just get along already?" .
Cybill was on edge most of the time, probably justified thinking she would have to defend herself. Although I did enjoy Bruce's reaction when she responded to GLen talking about the late scripts affecting her most. She got very defensive and Bruce leaned back in his chair and put his head back like "here it comes". That was classic. Uncomfortable, but classic. I think Bruce is totally great for even doing anything on the dvds but I do think his final comments about the pregnancy and his career was a little bit of his ego saying "I'm a big star, it's all about me", and he kept dropping his movie titles throughout the commentary too. But I still luv ya and your big 'ol ego. I thought Glen and Jay were fairly good about not slamming Cybill, they seemed to choose their words very carefully. When she admitted she said "that sounds hard why do we have to do that?" when he told her about Atomic it gave me a whole new perspective on her attitude. There's still a lot of underlying tension about what went on back then and no way is she totally innocent. Although someone should slam Glen about the overall lack of scripts, it's his fault and no one else that they couldn't do 20 episodes a season. Plenty of more complicated and just as well written shows have managed. Maybe he was a control freak who should have let his writers do more. Still I loved the featurette and all the commentary, but where are all those old promos and the screen test they keep referring to? |

I think you have to admit it was not a happy set. I'm sure they each have their own point of view, but there was probably enough blame to go around. Still, it was great seeing the three of them together again. I have to believe a lot of the hard feelings have faded or they never would have done this together. I give them all credit for that!

I agree with you about the mention of Die Hard at the end there. It sounded pretty conceited to me, too. I wonder though if he wasn't trying to just communicate something totally innocent, and it came off as arrogant. I don't know... just a thought.

I think it was an innocent remark and bare in mind Cybill was and is just as famous and did some great movies, and worked with some great co-stars just like Bruce had ,Yeah theremay have been a moment(but just a moment) where Cybills reaction was a little defensive but i agree withCybill 100% that itwasnt`tthe fact that David and Maddie slept together caused the down, side as has been said many times before by all the fans there were a lot of other things in the mixing pot that helped it along the way. My personel view is that the writers may have forgotten the essence of the relationship between David and Maddie without Glenn being there to guide them.BUT i not having a pop at them. I just have to say one thing WHY THE ANNIE THING!!

I could be wrong, but when I watched Memories of ML, it didn't really seem to me Bruce was being conceited about the Die Hard comment. I thought maybe with all the hard feelings, tension that had been around before he was just trying to be nice to Cybill. He does say at the end of the Shakespeare commentary that he never blamed her for anything. I do agree maybe there were some awkward moments with Glenn and Jay, but overall I thought it was very good.

I've heard Bruce say that same thing about Die Hard many times over the years. It's a standard line for him so I'm sure Cybill's heard it before too. I think the gestures and expressions between them at the end show that a lot of it is water under the bridge now. I also noticed him saying he didn't blame her for any of it at the end of the Shakespeare commentary.

I agree with you. I really really don't think Bruce was trying to do the "I'm a big movie star thing" at all (he couldn't do that to Cybill who is a living legend!), he was trying to say that he was glad some things happened (such as Cybill getting pregnant), otherwise, his movie career may not have been quite the same. He's said similar things about Moonlighting as a whole. It was a really sweet thing to say, he is obviously trying to make it very clear that he didn't blame her for anything, like he said in the commentary for A.S.

I thought Cybill looked uncomfortable too, but maybe more like the chair wasn't comfortable than anything else!
I don't like the way it ended on the Die Hard comment, Cybill wanted to say more I am sure but didn't get the chance Still great to see them though |

I watched it all yesterday, and yeah they did seem uncomfortable. I did agree with Cybill 100% when she went into the defending mode.
I was also thinking, she's sitting there with 3 men, all buddy buddy, they should have put another woman in that room. Maybe that could have made Cybill feel more comfortable and maybe then she would have started talking during A.S.. I had the feeling she did try to do so, but after every comment she made, a silence fell with the 3 men. That's a moment when I would stop trying. Anyways, it was good to see them together again. Maybe they should have been in a room together, without Glenn. I wonder what would have happened then

Naughty! i like the way your mind works. I dont care if they are both in their 50s ,i`d still pay good money to go and see them make out in a film.Maybe they could continue from where the couch scene in In & Out laws left off
Bruce has got a terrific body!!!

Did anybody else notice Cybill's comment on the Shakespeare commentary, in the scene where Petruchio grabs Kate and they fall to the floor, she says something like "too bad we can't do that now Bruce" or something like that?

What made me feel the most uncomfortable was the unnecessary comments about the big-boobed blonde (who certainly has gone on to major stardom
) "How many office workers did you have in season 3 Bruce?" The mind reels...

Also a comment Bruce made during that shot of them on the floor and about her laughing ,he says something about the shower scene in I See France.... where they are tired up together ,he said to Cybill that they should do the commentary for that one next time ,so they must be doing more commentaries for the last 2 seasons YEAY!! Maybe thay could do a couple of them together next time(not that i`m being greedy or anything!- well... maybe i am!) |
