37-Pound Woman Gives Birth

TULARE, Calif. -- She weighs just 34 pounds more than her newborn son.

But Eloysa Vasquez delivered little Timothy by Cesarean section on Jan. 24. He weighed in at 3 pounds, 7 ounces.

The California woman suffers from a disorder that makes bones soft and easily broken. She stands just 3 feet tall and gets around in a wheelchair.

Doctors at Stanford's University's Packard Children's Hospital decided to deliver the child eight weeks early because Vasquez's body was running out of room.

Tests show baby Timothy did not inherit his mother's genetic condition.
