Angela Bofill Suffers Stroke - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

"Angel of the Night," singer Angela Bofill is paralyzed on her left side following a stroke suffered on Jan. 10, her manager Rich Engel told us. Bofill is convalescing is at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA.

Bofill, 51, was released from intensive care on Sunday Jan. 15 and will require speech and physical therapy, Engel said.

A benefit concert has been organized to pay her hospital bills, as Bofill did not carry health insurance. The show, planned by Engel along with N.Y. radio stations Kiss FM, and CD 101.9, will be held on March 11th at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, N.J. Similar events are being planned for Detroit and Los Angeles, Engel said.

We spoke with David Nathan of the R&B Foundation, who informed us that Bofill may just qualify for sorely need aid aid from the organization. He says that the wheels are grinding and if all goes well, she will receive assistance with medical bills ASAP.

Meanwhile, well wishes and donations from fans should be sent to Live At Night, P.O. Box 1140, Maplewood, N.J. 07040. Engel asks that checks be made payable directly to Angela Bofill.

This really upset me when I heard about this. Such a wonderful singer and a great voice, I hope she can fully recover and take to the stage once again. I've seen her in concert a couple times and she is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in person and always put on a great performance. In concert, her singing and performing styles remind me of the late great Phyllis Hyman. She never seems to age. This sister can SANG

I remember Angela. Her classic love song I Try is my favorite by her. That's sad to hear about her having a stroke. She does have a nice voice and she's attractive. Nice pictures of her Vashti1999 that you posted.
