Default What are your thoughts when you see a careless parent(s)/children not being watched..

parents not paying attention to where there kids are in public places, etc.

Just today I seen a couple who were busy talking to the receptionist in the doctor's office and there went their toddler walking out the door, sweet as you please, and there I went after him. The thing that pissed me off was the parents didn't even know this was going on. I brought the kid to their attention and told them what happened. If I hadn't been there (there was no one else around) what would have happened? I had this thought in my head of him getting hit by a car, a stranger taking him...so pathetic!!!!!

I agree, ticks me off too. I was in the mall a few years ago and this little boy about 5 years old was crying that he lost his mama. After several minutes we tracked her down in one of the stores and she didn't even realize that she had lost him, wasn't even upset or anything.

i feel for that little boy

But it makes me really sad to hear about stuff like that. Mainly because I'm in a situation now where my family doesn't give a damn weither i live or die. They make "jokes" about how worthless I am...god this is a depressing thread

me too. Some parents need to learn how to be responsible for their kids. Like you'll see kids acting crazy in public and so forth and they'll just stand around.

Ugh. That's just the worst!

It always annoys me when parents leave their kid(s) alone because they've got a call on their cell phone. I don't take my eyes off of my two younger sisters when we go out together (even though they're 10 and 12).

I've seen so many children abused when I worked in the supermarket as a teen. The store was located in the bad part of town and little kids were constantly abused (vocally & physically) by their parents. The children would be wearing filthy ripped clothes and a lot of times the parents would just smack the kid up the side of the head if they reached for a candy bar or a pack of gum. I wanted to take something and smack the parent over the head with it so bad. Some of us even went to the manager to address the constant problem of parents terrorizing their own children in the store and the manager told us not get involved because messing with these people weren't worth it. These kids would black circles and their eyes would be sunk into their heads. I remember seeing their ribs just sticking out because they were so skinny. They were just like little zombies and it was a pathetic sight.

I hate when parents let their kids run around in restaurants. It's so dangerous and a major distraction to other patrons who are paying good money for their meals.

Anything can happen...an abduction, an accident...there's hot food being served.

I am the polar opposite of that. I actually watch my kids like a hawk. I despise taking my kids into Manhattan. I actually get a little shortness of breath because there are so many people around and if you blink, they could be gone. It upsets me just thinking about it.

Angry Makes Me So Mad

It makes me so mad when people do that. The way I see it; is that if they can't keep an eye on them; then don't bring them with you, that's all.

I had to go to the hospital Monday night and I was sitting in the ER not feeling good and this lady was just letting her two little girls play in the water fountain. They were running around, putting water in their mouths and spitting it out. I wasn't feeling good at all and I had to tell the lady to go get her kids and to watch them.

A - MEN. And from what I've witnessed, if anyone tries to tell the parents they need to keep a closer eye/restrain on their kids, the parent just turns right around with some "HOW DARE YOU TELL ME HOW TO RAISE MY KIDS" steaming pile.

Kids running around bugs me less at places like McDonalds and Burger King, where it's just more...expected (still annoying though). But at nicer restaraunts (Hey, I may be a Broke College Student [TM], but I like to eat nicely when I can afford to), it's just plain wrong.

It sure is wrong. When my husband Lou and I eat out, I'd say 9 out of 10 times, there's a misbehaving child or a crying baby within earshot. In fact, it's a running joke with us. I'll hear the crying baby at the next table and say to Lou, "Right on cue and right out of central casting".
