Sad Movies with sad endings...

What are your fave movies that have sad endings? You can include t.v. movies too:

The Rose w/Bette Midler
La Bamba
Romeo & Juliet original version
Sweet Dreams Jessica Lange (Story of Patsy Cline)

one thing I hate about biopics like La Bamba and Selena is that you ended up getting emotionally wrapped up in the other peoples lives as well, and would've been nice to know what Richie's brother and mother did after the plane crash, or what Selena's family were up to after her murder, but it acted like they died when their famous sibling died too, especially the way Selena's family were trivialized in getting "wrapped up" in the movie being notified of her death in the hospital instead of actually seeing what became of them afterwards.

Did you know Ritchie Valens mother appeared in La Bamba?? Yep she sure did. She died a few years later.

Selena's family wanted her story to be told, not their lives. But I can tell you this. Selena's brother is an accomplished musician who founded the succesful Kumbia Kings. A latin group that has won many awards and have hit albums. He also has kids with different women Selena's sister has decided to be out of the limelight and she is married. Selena's husband remarried (i think) anyways, he has a child with a woman, I don't know if he actually married her. But they live together and he remains in touch with Selena's family because he considers them his family.

Beaches! I forgot about that one.

Evening Star had a sad ending, I thought (Sequel to Terms of Endearment)

Liberty Heights -- That was sad at the end.

"Casablanca" (1942)
"Gone with the Wind" (1939)

What's left to say? You can't touch the classics; they just don't make 'em like they used to.
