I did like 8 Simple Rules, it was great to see John Ritter on TV again. But I've always had this idea in the back of my mind while watching the show. My perfect TV wife for John would've been Joyce DeWitt. They could've been together again different characters, a new show. I like Katie Segal, but just couldn't picture her as his wife, imo she didn't quite fit the role. They also could've had Don Knotts as John or Joyce's father. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah...Joyce would have been good, but it would have been hard to break the Three's Company mold if both were cast.

I don't think it would cause quite of few years have passed since then, plus it's new characters, and new setting. I think people would've loved seeing John and Joyce together again. Just think how well people liked seeing Ed O'Neil on the show, too bad they didn't get together.

The cast was perfect. It would have been better if John Ritter was still on though.
