Boy was I MAD when I saw that episode when it aired on NBC. I felt bad for poor Byron Douglas. Dwayne stole his wedding day. I still watched the show, I was just shocked when I saw it though. A Different World is a good piece of work.

The Dwayne/Whitley wedding was awesome!! When Lena came on the scene that was a great one too,Whitley to Kim:"wev'e got a fly girl reject, and when she looks her outfit up and down and comments "Is that a bathing suit?" The show broke ground, and broke me up laughing my head off. In a class all it's own. Oh, also the episode when Walter finds the girl in that guys room.Walter: Oh, 'Bama, tell me it's not true. "I,m not from Alabama, I'm feom Jasper Texas".

Definitely the Wedding!

Dwayne: "Will you?"

Preacher: "Blessed are those who ask the question, Brotha!"

Dwayne: "Whitley, I love you, and if you would have me..."

Byron: "Dwayne, what the Hell are you doing?"

Dwayne: "I'm sorry Byron, I love her!"

Marian: "Die, just Die!"

**********

Marian: (to Mr. Gaines) "Oh, then maybe you'd love to cater my ex-husband's wife's sweet 16."

**********

Marian: "Fredricka!"

Freddy: "It's Winnifred."

**********

>>> The one where Whitley's cousin came to Hillman (Jasmine Guy in Dual role)

>>> The one where Lena set the dorm on fire.

>>> The one with EnVogue.

>>> The one where Adell and Marian came for Thanksgiving.

Marian: "Adelee, it's so good to see you again."

Adell: "It's good to see you too, MONA!"

*********

>>> Dwayne and Whitley's honeymoon in the LA Riots.

>>> The one where Whitly got drunk at that bar and sang "Shake it A-Baby."

All of them. I can go into recitations from any episode. But my absolute favorite was the wedding. I rewound that one part so many times.

Jaleesa: (to the stripper) "I just gave birth get away from me"

********

Dwayne: "Will you take me to have and to hold, for richer or poorer, baby please! Please!"

Whitley: "I do."

Marian: "Wait! Wait, you all heard it! You heard it. She said an 'I do'."

Pastor: "But to who?

"Marian: "Well, uh..."

Whitley: "I... I'm sorry Byron."

Marian: "No, no..."

Pastor: "Is anybody gettin' married here today?"

Dwayne: "Yeah. Yeah. My name is Dwayne. I'm getting married. Thank you Mr. Gaines."

Pastor: "Then by the power vested in me... you get down and do it boy!"

Ugh! Lemme grab a tissue...

My favorite part was the episode "We've Only Just Begun!" It was the part that Whitley told Lena off. She said "I knew you was trouble the minute you walked in here Missy!! Nothing get's passed me. Now you just carry your little fly behind on out of here and be on your very way!! And the next episode after that, I don't know the name of it, Well anyway!! When Dwayne was teaching his class then Whitley came in the classroom and told Dwayne "I'm sorry Pooky!" Then Lena ask her "That's your man?" Then Whitley says "That's right you little barracuda!! Boy I just laughed my heart out. I taped those 2 episodes this summer and I stay up late on Friday nights watching those episodes. I enjoyed it!!

My favorite episode was the one in the first series where Maggie and Dwayne had to look after an egg as if it were a real child. The look on Maggie's face when she thought that Whitley had scrambled the egg was priceless!!

Was I the only one who knew before the show aired that Whitley was going to marry Dwayne instead of Byron Douglas? NBC seemed to give it away when they advertised the show showing Whitley in her wedding dress then Dwayne on one side of the screen and Byron on the other and then "who will she choose?" I knew then and there Dwayne was going to crash that wedding.

Duh? Right? I never saw that promo till last month on a tape somone sent to me. It was a 1992 Golden Girls episode. The show was on commercial and the wedding promo was shown. You are so right about that. I'm with you on that. NBC practically gave the answer away.

i would also say the wedding episode. but i also seem to recall an episode in which Freddie locks herself into the radios station for some reason, i don't remember much of it except that i loved that episode. and there was an episode when either lena or freddie was being abused by thier boyfriend. i just loved that show.

The Thanksgiving eposide during the second season. It the one when Kim was suppose to go home to be with her family, but somehow her plans feel through. I forget why but Whitley didn't go home either. Well th two girls decied to forget there troubles and went to a club. The part when everyone was singing twist and shout with Whitley on the counter was great. The funnist part was Whitley reaction when she found out from Cornal Taylor her drink had no acohol in it at all. She tought she was drunk but she wasn't.

I'm so glad Thanksgivings next month I'll be able to see it again. This time I'm taping it

I love the Thanksgiving episode of the last season when Dwayne and Whitley's moms come to visit. I LOVE Whitley's mom's "boyfriend" in that episode - so funny.

Another favorite is the series finale - they wrapped up the storylines so we didn't feel like we were left hanging like so many cancelled shows do.

And, of course, the wedding - it practically goes without saying.
