Default How many people tell the cashier to keep the change if it's under 5 cents?

I always tell the cashier to keep the change if it's 4 cents or less because it's nothing I can do with pennies. Pennies can;t even go in a vending machine. So is there anyone who still accepts change even if it's under a NICKEL?

Sometimes I'll tell them to keep it. It just depends on if I'm in a hurry or not.

It should go both ways, though rarely do the stores cut YOU a break with a one cent difference.

If my item is $1.46 and they want to give me 4 pennies instead of a nickel, hey I'm taking it. They should give me the damn nickel instead of me GVING them 4 cents or making me put 4 pennies in my pocket. They are making profit.

Buy if my change is 1 or 2 cents, they can keep it.

And if an item is one penny over- like $1.01 - and they give me 99 cents back instead of saying "don't worry about it", they will never get a cent from me again at that store.

That pisses me off to no end.

I usually let them keep the pennies. But if its a store that wont let me slide for a penny or 2. Or they dont have a "take-a-penny" dish. Ill throw the pennies in the floor of my truck.

In this day and age I keep every cent. When I get too many coins I wrap them up and deposit them at the bank.

True. You can't buy crap with a penny today, but I just took about $120 worth of pennies and nickels to the bank.

Usually, I'll let the cashier keep the change if it's under 25 cents. Can't do anything with less than 25 cents worth of dimes, nickels, and pennies. A phone call is 25 cents minimum.

One time, a guy told me I could keep the change and it was a whole dollar

I don't usually bother telling them to keep the change. I hardly use cash anymore to begin with.

No, I keep all my money. The stores charge too much for stuff as it is.

I keep the change. It goes into a glass, which I take to the coinstar machine when it's full. I use the extra cash to buy groceries.

Yes, my life is that freakin boring.
