one of the worst movies ever made was Battlefield Earth with John Travolta. I remember how suddenly after 5 or 6 years, Showgirls went from "really bad maligned film" to "cult classic" somewhat overnight, I think it's time for the same to happen to Battlefield Earth too. In the context of a comedy/spoof, Battlefield is literally one of the funniest movies ever made. The movie singlehandedly killed any chances for a career that Barry Pepper may have had, and it put Travolta's career on the critical list for a long time.
The best (worst?) part is that the movie is blatant Scientology propaghanda telling a "holy story" that Scientologists deem sacred, which means that to Travolta and Cruise, this movie is like watching The Passion, which increases the camp value of this movie ten-fold. If Showgirls can become a cult/camp classic, I think it's time for people to reevaluate Battlefield Earth and realize what a comic masterpiece it is. I am sure you could make drinking games for every time Travolta says "man-animals" in it.
