Post Favorite Season?

when taking an entire season into consideration. What ws your fave season? I would have to say that my favorite season was season 4, the episode in which whitley finally chases Kinu away (with the help of Ron) was a classic. It also had one of the sitcoms signature lines Whitley to Kine..."You may have won the Prize,,but I will win the man"... Whitley at her best.

My favorite season was the first season, only be default.I loved the show at first and thought Anne Beatts was a good producer who saw insight into teenagers.I also thought Marisa Tomei was a charming, funny girl. They both exited after season 1-and I quit seeing it then.

I liked the first few seasons, but the last season or two started getting a little preachy.I think they should have stuck with story lines having to do with the original class instead of adding new characters.

I liked the last season the best. I loved the new characters with emphasis on the Waynes (newlyweds), and the new in'laws (Adel and Marion). I loved Gina, Lena, Sharmane, Dorian, and Terrell. And I LOVED the theme song.

But I did like the third to the last seaon as well, when Whitley and Dwayne were courting each other.

My favorite seasons were 3 and 4 with the tension between Dwayne and Whitley hovering over everything that went on. It also showed the students coming of age in college, dealing with relationships, finaces, career decisions, family issues, etc. After that the show lost it's collegiate flavor, as the main characters were completely focused on their careers.

It's interesting how some people stopped watching it after Marisa Tomei left, when the show unquestionably got better. Debbie Allen seemed to bring a much better job representing what life on a black college campus was like. Did the writers change also?

Jeez, what does everybody on here have against Marisa Tomei?! I think she's brilliant and, if anything, 'A Different World' got WORSE after she left!

Thumbs down

My favorite seasons were the 3 through 6 when Dwayne and Whitley first started to have feelings for each other and when they FINALLY went out and when they were married. Although I didn't like when julian and Whitley were together that was not good!!
Thats my thoughts

Thumbs up

My fav season is when Whitley chased off Kinea....And her and Dwanye got back together. The wedding episode is one of the best weddings on tv ever. (This may have been two different seasons)

My favorite season was Seasons 2-6. Season 1 was alright, but the 2nd season on up was the best. I even liked the theme song they used for the last season of ADW. It had a lot of flavor in it.

I liked 2-6 because these seasons were way better than season 1. I loved the theme song from season 6 too, it was more upbeat.

I think seasons 3,4, and 5 were the best I am probably one of the few people who loved the show all the way through, from the Lisa Bonet eps to the Jada Pinkett days. However, I think the show reached its fullest potential when it focused more on the on again-off again romantic relationship between Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne. Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison were terrific foils and played of each other in the most superb way. Also, I positively loved the story arcs concerning the Julian and Keneau characters.

My favorite seasons were 3-6 because of Dwayne and Whitley, they are the main reason I love this show so much. But, I do think too many new characters were added on in the last couple of seasons.

After Monica gets a disastrous haircut.]
Ross: How's Monica?
Phoebe: She's calmed down a bit. I put a clip on one side, which seems to have stopped the curling.
Ross: How's the hair?
Phoebe: I'm not gonna lie to you Ross. It doesn't look good.
Joey: Can we see her?
Phoebe: No, your hair looks too good. I think it would only upset her.
Rachel: Oh.
Phoebe: Ross, you can go on in.

I definitely liked the seasons 1 thru 4. Those were some great episodes. Am I the only one that likes season 1? just curious!
