Default Possible Season Two Set In The Works!

I have just read someone's post on Amazon.com. The person has indicated that, although a second season set has not been announced by the studio yet, it is being prepared for later in 2006. The individual provided the reasons for the best of DVD as being, " first - to get people who might not buy a season set. Second - they wanted to get a few Markie Post episodes out there. Since she only has one episode in season two, and doesn't become a regular until season three... Warner decided to push a few of her episodes on this compilation."

I don't know where the person received this information, but it makes sense and gives us all hope. Until then, buy the best of on February 28th.

What is with this whole thing where fans cannot possibly live without the Markie Post episodes?

It's called patience. Get some. Season 3 and beyond will come.

Wasn't Markie in Season 2?? I mean, not just her first episode? Or is it one of those goofy season 1 in '84, season 2 is '84-85, and season 3 is '85-86 things?

Well there is one good answer Markie used to be a swimsuit model and men has crush on her and we like her charcater Christine and Harry.

Like I have a crush on Harry since I remember him in 1984 as far I can remember him.

Im looking forward to seeing new box season soon. Mcfly to answer Markie did 1 epsiode "Mac & Christine" epsoide #15 on 2nd season. Markie couldnt get out of contract at that time and contract ended. So she became forever Christine on 3rd season.

Yes, Markie appeared in one episode in Season 2. Which was the 2nd episode, actually: "Christine and Mac: Daddy For The Defense". And this is one of my favorites in Season 2.

And notice Ellen Foley wasn't in "Nuts About Harry" which aired the night before last. Which was a nice change.

I want the whole Season myself, even though I'm *NOT* a Ellen Foley/Billie Young Fan.

{And I still don't see how some fans liked her over Markie/Christine!! Sheesh. And yes, there are some out there, I've read it many times, and going, oookay....}

From a business standpoint, Markie Post statistically was more popular than the other female characters associated with the show. She brought in more ratings when she arrived. Additionally, when looking at DVD sales "Heart's Afire" it selling so well that the third season will be out soon. Granted, some of that is also due to John Ritter but Markie is also a big seller. Therefore from the explanation given, I can understand why Warner Brothers decided to do a best of first with episodes involving Markie. This may also be placed in between seasons because they may be doing some different things with season two that are taking a bit longer. (Example would be better extras)Putting out a "Best of" will ease our craving a bit for a second season release. If you also examine demographics, Markie Post appealed very much to the male viewers. (I can't tell you how many times I've read comments of a male standpoint on messages boards in regards to Markie's "appearance".) Unfortunately or fortunately, depending upon one's perspective, this sort of thing sells in this day and age.

Now, my views. I can't speak for the males because I'm not one. I will say that I liked Markie as an actress in relation to her fit as a character on the show. Ellen Foley was too much like one of the guys...plus I hated her acting. She did do well singing with Meatloaf though on "Paradise By The Dashboard Light." I didn't like Ellen's chemistry with the other characters. I thought she was stiff. I thought Markie added a "softness" to the show that gave it a nice balance. Could it get on one's nerves a bit...yes....but that was part of the character. So, she was doing a good job. Something also has to be said for Reinhold Weege's persistence in trying to get her on the show. Reinhold knew what he was looking for and Markie provided it. They tried Shelly Hack in Markie's role but she only lasted, I believe, two days on the set. Fate played a hand in bringing this fine cast together. They were meant to be assembled this way for a reason. How else do you explain Harry Anderson appearing to Reinhold being exactly how he had scripted his character, John developing a character who gave him four Emmys and Markie Post, who was Weege's first choice, by a miracle being free of her "Fall Guy" contract to do the show? You could not have casted a show any better than this.
