Default Have any Unsolved Mysteries ever taken place where you live?

I know one has and I could've sworn another one has. I live in Hagerstown, MD and there was a segment I think with a psychic who was here to help solve a murder. It was crazy to see where I lived and see them standing by our library in downtown.

Anybody else?

yes. the one abt the deaf, mute woman who was found wandering in the middle of the street and no one could I.D. her or figure out where she came from. She had drawn a pic of a baby, or something like that. Something abt her drawing an airplane or pointing to a pic of an airplane. That happened here in my city.

I can think of 5

1.Dick Hansen is shot by a guy trailing his date, supposedly becuase of numbers on her liscence plate.
2.Matt Flores is shot in the parking lot of his workplace, possibly the victim of mistaken identity.
3.Gus Hoffman is allegedly kidnapped by a biker gang, and mother works tirelessly to find the truth.
4.Frances Buhay robs a bank and, after his accomplices are captured, begins sending threatning e-mails to police.
5.Nova tha black cat is separated from her owner during a cross-country move, only to be re-united late by walking to her owners workplace.

I am only including stuff that took place in the south SF bay area where I live. If I included the whole bay area than there would be even more stories.

Another one that happened about 15 or 20 miles away is the guy that was found dead in his hotel room in Martinsburg, WV. I don't recall the name or any of the specifics. It was a Sheraton, I believe. It's on the Bizarre Murders DVD.

Too many to count or detail that have a Las Vegas connection. Seems like every kook or crook zeroes in on this place. Just yesterday a police officer was killed and another wounded in a bloody shootout in which the shooter was eventually shot and killed by police.

Jared Peters, abducted by his grandmother Pat Farmer, took place in a small town about 90 miles from me.

Yea Awsi, why is it that all these low lifes commit their crimes and then go to a hotel room in Las Vegas and kill themselves......

As for me here in Illinois I live close to the town where Brook Baker was murdered. Also not to far from the town where Jill Behrman disappeared from.

I'm from Folsom, California, and there was a segment about a guy that escaped from Folsom prison. The best part about the segment was when he broke out of the truck he stowed away in, he was at a bowling alley that I used to always go to called Lake Bowl. It's about a five minute drive from Folsom Prison. Pretty cool how they actually filmed the segment on location.

Probably the scariest UM case that took place in (or close) to Las Vegas was the Joe Weldon Smith case. The man who killed his wife and two step daughters as they slept. He tried to kill the owner of the house they were renting from with a hammer but the owner escaped by running through the glass window because he didn't have time to unlock the door. Pretty freaky. Glad he was caught.
