yeah, that's a great picture.
I am guessing its a screen capture because I have never seen it before. It looks like she posed for it so I could be wrong.I know you will like these Fleet ![]()

So, now you're teasing me with more pictures? Okay! I'll look.
Those are good pics, too. I wouldn't mind having her dusting my house! |

I think the first picture is from "How to Be a Hero" after the Skipper rescues Mary Ann from the lagoon and Mr. Howell is taking pictures of them.
BTW can someone explain what's the big deal about Mary Ann? Every guy I meet is just crazy about Mary Ann. Of course Dawn Wells was a pretty girl, but would think Ginger would be more popular. I'm a girl myself, so maybe I'm just clueless about what guys like, I don't know. |

For me, when I was a youngster I liked Mary Ann because she and Gilligan seemed like friends and Ginger was always into kissing and hugging and hugging and kissing. Yuck! Later on as the hormones set in I always felt I would have had at least half a chance with Mary Ann but Ginger was way to glamorous and way out of my league. These days they're on a par. It wouldn't be Gilligan's Island without both of their personalities.

Oddly enough, I could imagine myself being friends with Ginger better than with Mary Ann. To me Ginger seemed just as nice and sweet as MA, once you got to know her really well. MA seemed a little *too* bright and chipper at times for me and for someone who was supposed to be the "good girl", she showed an awful lot of skin. (I'm sure the guys aren't complaining!)
MA showed more skin than Ginger most of the time.Cynthia |

One of the things we guys liked about her ![]() When G.I. first went off the air and started being shown in reruns, I was probably 8 or 9... and I remember at that time, I thought Ginger was "hot" (or whatever words an 8 year old would use in those days)...I was attracted to her glamour, and didn't think much of Mary Ann at the time, other than probably just thinking she was cute... I was probably in high school when I decided that I liked Mary Ann better...she wasn't glamourous in the way that Ginger was, obviously, but she was a natural beauty. And when I got to college, it seemed like most of the guys were in Mary Ann's camp as well. In addition to having a beautiful face, she also possessed a number of other qualities below the neck that were highly prized by the superficial male... (not that there was ever anything wrong with Ginger in that department, but we could see a lot more of Mary Ann, thanks to the fantastic wardrobe department at the studio). Someone on these boards, probably a couple of years ago, in a "Ginger vs Mary Ann" thread, pointed out that "men want to date Ginger, but they want to marry Mary Ann". That says it well, but it's kind of hard to explain... Mary Ann just seemed like she'd be a nice girl to hang around with and bring home to meet the folks... Of course, I sure wouldn't have minded seeing Ginger in some of those Mary-Ann-ish outfits... va-va-va-vooom |

Mary Ann was more "down to earth" than Ginger. She was someone who would be easy to talk to (I should know- I've talked to Dawn Wells ).And, as for Mary Ann showing more skin, that was definitely a plus! |

Well, since it's all just a fantasy anyway. . .My former boyfriend once asked since there were two pretty girls on the island, why didn't Gilligan "do anything" with them, and went on to question Gilligan's sexual orientation. Of course I got mad and said that I had a crush on Gilligan when I was little and I thought he was cute, and cooed about his face, hair, voice etc. My boyfriend got all jealous and said "Well I like MARY ANN!" :PAnother thing is I remember looking at old pix of my mom from the 60's and her hair was very much like Ginger, kind of shoulder length with bangs, so I thought that was cool. I thought Ginger and Gilligan seemed like really good friends too. Cynthia |

In that first pic, that's the one where Mr. Howell is shooting the picture, and he asks her to show some knee !! Then he calls it cheesecake !! With Mrs. Howell standing right there !!!!!

I certainly would hire her as my maid. Maybe she would include some "fringe benefits?"
