Default Laurel & Hardy

neway....just wanna say i LOVEEEEE Laurel & Hardy.....their right there with the honeymooners are the funniest duo ever....this used to be my grandfather's fav show....i remember as a little kid watching it with him and both of us laughing til our faces turned red and tears started coming out

my question is.....is there any Laurel & Hardy box set collection??? ive seen several dvd's on barnes&noble.com but none really interest me....i want a box collection that is at least over 8 hours long or so.....ive seen some on Ebay.....they had the whole collection of Laurel & Hardy...i think it was like 16 dvd's or so.....im just skeptical about ordering stuff from ebay but i really want this.....do they even show this anymore? amc??

as far as I know, Laurel & Hardy NEVER had a TV show. You're probably thinking of Abbot & Cosstello, and there IS a board for their TV show.

Either that, or you're thinking the Laurel & Hardy movies were a TV show.

And, I agree-there should be a board about THE 3 STOOGES, even though they really weren't TV stars, however they did make TV appearences in the 50s and 60s, and a pilot in 1948, and started to make another one in 1970 (they never finished it because Larry-the fuzzy haired one-suffered a stroke).

Granny: "Lissen, how she got them diamonds is her business. I'm just sayin' ask her kin we buy one from her."

I didn't say there's a LAUREL & HARDY board, I said theres one on here for ABBOT & COSSTELOS TV show. Look under the forum for "1950s SITCOMS".

LAUREL & HARDY made "shorts"-short films that were shown in movie theaters before the movie) and they also made movies. All of their movies were an hour to an hour and a half.

I'm sure they're still shown TCM from time to time. (I doubt AMC still shows them). The TCM website is www.turnerclassicmovies.com

I'm SURE there's a LAUREL & HARDY web site-in fact, I'm sure there's more than one! Look in any search engine and type in LAUREL AND HARDY

and, I'm sure they're availible on DVD. I know they're on VHS.

I'm far from an expert on them, though, so don't know about the one on a train. I DO know a lot about THE 3 STOOGES however. 2 websites for them are http://www.threestooges.com and http://www.threestooges.net

yes, I do. There's a 12-disc set avaible from COLUMBIA PICTURES HOME ENTERTAINMENT. I don't know how many hours it is, but it's 600 MINUTES!!!!
Besides a lot of their fiilms-or "shorts" as they're called. Like LAUREL & HARDY, they made short films that were shown in theatres before the movie, in the 30s, 40s, and 50s-it also includes 2 movies that they made in 1960 and 1965. However, the one from 1960 only includes clips of them. The stars Paul Winchell (a popular ventroliquiset in the 60s) and his dummys, Jerry Mahoney & Knucklehead Smif, along with THE MARQUIS CHIMPS, who were a popular trained chimp act at the time. (The Stooges tried to sue over this picture, claiming Columbia Pictures-the company they worked for-had no right to cut up their films) The 2nd movie's a western comedy called "The Outlaws is Coming".

And, the first 2 "shorts" in the set are their first 2 that they made, "Woman Haters" and "Punch Drunks".
