Question Soft Cell's Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go? Blend

On 97.3 they play two different songs together, which is confusing....... They play Tainted Love, and then after Tainted Love, they play Where Did Our Love Go(Which is a different song) as a tag-along to TL, so it sounds like the same exact song.. Who doies that? I know that TL has a 12 inch single of it with a tag along(WDOLG), but radios shouldn't play them together like they are ONE long song. On 97.3, they play TL, then right after TL, they play WDOLG, which is why I thought the song was TL/Where Did Our Love Go, until I looked up that song's lyrics and could only find TL's lyrics. I wanted the WDOLG part to(not knowing it was A DIFFERENT song, thanks to 97.3). I had to look up Where Did Our Love Go by itself and got the lyrics. Seriously radio stations should not play this as a tag-along to TL.

Weird, all these years I never once found it confusing.

No, it's confusing how 97.3 plays them both together, as if they are one long song.

Okay, but it's not just that station. It is essentially one song: "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go." There may be times that a station will just play the Tainted Love section of it, but it's not like the songs weren't meant to go together. That's how it was recorded, with one segueing into the other.

before you post a thread... there's a reason why "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" by Queen are always played together, they were released to be played together like that.

Even though I honestly never understood why the classic rock stations always played "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen seperately... when that and Bicycle Race were a single that the two songs go together, and yet I never hear "Fat Bottomed Girls/Bicycle Race" on the radio like "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions", it's always just "Fat Bottomed Girls"

I remember some radio stations that played just "Tainted Love" by Soft Cel because they don't have "Where Did Our Love Go". That blows me off. I love the longer songs like "Tainted Love" and "Where Did Our Love Go" as a medley both sung by Soft Cel and it was a one-hit wonder back in the 1980's. "Where Did Our Love Go" was a remake of the Supremes first #1 hit for Motown back in 1964. Some stations tells the difference. It's like Chicago's "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" where the song leads to "Get Away" at the end.

Alot of radio stations don't play the version with Where Did Our Love Go because of the time constraints. Alot of songs have long versions or 12 inch versions that radio stations won't play. Same thing with Soft Cell's song. No different. I prefer the long version. It's abt 8 minutes long.

There are two or three different radio edits of Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go' medley.

My favorite one is the version with the vocals to WDOLG fading out and the music continuing for a while.
