Default 'Baby Jessica' Now 19, Reportedly Marries

'Baby Jessica,' Now 19, Reportedly Marries

'Baby Jessica,' Dramatically Rescued From Texas Well in 1987, Reportedly Marries at 19

MIDLAND, Texas Jan 29, 2006 — "Baby Jessica," whose dramatic rescue from an abandoned Texas well was televised across the country 18 years ago, got married in a private ceremony, People magazine reported on its Web site.

Crews struggled for 58 hours to rescue Jessica McClure after she fell into an 8-inch-wide pipe in October 1987.

The celebrity magazine reported that McClure, now 19, married Daniel Morales, 32, at a rural church outside Midland on Saturday. A sign on the door instructed guests not to take pictures or video, the magazine said.

The two met at a day-care center where Morales' sister worked with McClure, according to the magazine.

The case of 18-month-old Jessica created a nationwide sensation. Emergency crews rescued her a dramatic moment covered on live television after digging a parallel shaft and then breaking through the wall of the well.

How nice.

Hopefully their children will never be allowed to play outside.

I am baffled that people still get married so young these days. I am 26 and I still am not ready to settle down and decide to spend the rest of my life with somebody. When I was 19, the last thing on my mind was to wind up with somebody.

I guess she decided to marry very young too, just like her own parents Cissy and Chip who married and had Jessica when they were only teenagers. Cissy and Chip divorced shortly after the incident. Let's see how long Jessica's marriage will last.

I guess in small towns such as Midland, people do tend to marry younger.

Interesting indeed.

Hmmmm....

I recall just a year ago I was curious as to her whereabouts, so I did some research and found very little news back then. I remember one article said there were no current pictures on her online. I was curious as to what she looks like nowadays, but anyway....

About the marriage/age thing, it seems she has inherited it that from her parents. They were actually teenage parents who later got divorced. Let's hope Jessica's marriage will last....

Ooops. I realized my wording was wrong. I mean to say there were no current pictures of Jessica of how she looks like nowadays. Thanks for that image, too!

Wow! Thanks, Stella! Where did you find these pictures, by the way? Very interesting there really are some media images out there. Do you have the article that goes with the second picture? It looks like it came from a magazine.

I noticed her feet aren't showing. She had a toe amputated because of the well accident.
