Default In episode, "The Burger Queen".....

.....at the end of the episode where Rerun pretended to be Raj's mother, it was never explained that the network executives how they didn't buy them being related. I saw the facial expression on Dick Van Patten's face, but I guess they didn't buy Rerun dressing up looking like a dressed up Shirley. Yes, Rerun was hideous trying to dress up like Shirley who was dressing up as mamma. How did they not know they were not related? Does anyone know what I am trying to say?

It was stupid to tell them that they wanted a mother and daughter that looked more alike, and they did give the inspiration for the idea, and they just showed them the door without giving them anything. I would have sued.

That episode got me kind of mad because Shirley could pass as Dee's mother, they should of used them both....Dee and Shirley were meant for that commercial.

Wink Yeah, I wonder...

Even though it was a very funny episode to watch/enjoy, I agree with GarfieldKOOL about that crappola concerning "We need a mother and a daughter that look more alike..." OH, NO WAY!!!
Like Shirley and Dee didn't already favor, ya know? C'mon NOW...
I would've sued that so-called burger outfit for whatever I could get, especially in the sense that Klaxton and Reynolds were virtually being ignorant in what "they were really looking for..."

Anyways, I loved it when Dee was up there, and kept Klaxton & Reynolds in full check! LOL
Basically speaking, she was telling 'em what they could do with their "jackass meat"!
Hell, I would've too.

Dumbest scenes ever. They had the sponsors fooled until Rerun dressed up. He killed the entire thing.

Yes, I know what you are trying to say, how come the executives did not give rerun and shirley a chance to do the commericial if they were related, the executive was assuming they were not related just by looking at rerun-

Good point.

I agree. They wanted a mother and daughter to look-alike. Who was to say they had to be related in real-life?

Ok, going out on a stretch here, but if Dee was being signed to do a commercial, she would have had to have her mother's permission anyways, so why was Mama not around? Legally, they were in the wrong. Had they done things legally right, there would be no doubt as to who the mother of Dee was.

You are right about that, they did not discuss any paper work, how old was raj as being a legal for a minor to do commericial, he could of have been a stranger in the streets bringing dee in to do a commercial and also, the executive made a goof when he stated, to Raj, your daughter and your mother do not look that much alike, remember raj started off saying dee was his sister-

Raj was still a minor. He was 17. He could not have had the authority to sign papers for Dee. This whole storyline reeks BIG FAT MISTAKE.

I know we're dealing with "sitcom logic" here but I never wrapped my mind around why Raj didn't just call their Mother and run it by her first. I mean, if your child has a chance to be a franchise player make some money that can either help the family or be tucked away for her future ... I don't know. I just never brought that Mabel would have veteod the idea right off the bat. But again, in "sitcom logic" you never "ask" you just "misunderstand throughout the episode" and watch hilarity ensue .

Exactly. It is not like Raj was having Dee do something that was illegal (which it really was since her mother wasn't there and she obviously had no idea abt this and the commercial people are hiring a child and that is against child labor laws :crazy) there was no reason whatsoever for Mama not to know abt this.
