i purchased recenttly a 9" mork doll. the head had on the neck the date 1979 the lower back had the date 1973. is this possible or did someone switch the head onto an earlier mattel doll body, any ideas out there

That's how all the Mork dolls were manufactured - they were made in 1979 but parts of them were dated 1973. It's not an error and nobody switched the heads on them. I have no idea why they did it but would be interested in finding out about it if anybody happens to know.

Mork dolls were made my Mattel in 1978 or 1979, and they came with a mork action figure, and some sort of space backpack. You can find these on Ebay for about $10.00.
