No one will ever know for sure because no member on this board never seen the CBS versions of All in the Famly. And if they did it was so long ago I doubt if they would remember what was cut out and what wasn't cut out.

Compared to what is aired on TVland, yes the dvd's are uncut and run 24-25 minutes long.

I watched the show when it was on CBS In the 70's & have seen the re-runs over the yrs on TVLAND etc. It's been so long since I've seen them on CBS that I have no idea what was cut out. I hate to see stuff cut out of shows tho...

I think they are the uncut CBS versions. They each run 24-25 minutes, and every episode has a tag scene. These tag scenes were never shown in sydication. N@N and TVLAND versions are horrible compared to these...They are a must buy for whoever is questioning buying them...Let's just hope the last four seasons get here quick. I wanna watch the entire series all over agian.

well, I remember seeing it when CBS aired it in the 70s, and I remember a little bit that's since been cut out. Like, in the 1st part of the 2 part one where Gloria has the baby, when Gloria calls Archie & Edith from the resturant, there was a scene at the end where Edith goes backstage at Archies lodge to tell him, and Barney Hefner and someone else threaten to kick Archie out if he leaves.

And, in the 2nd part of it, when they're all at the hospital, and Archie goes into that sleeping womans room looking for something to remove his makeup, she wakes up, sees him and calls for the nurse and says "There's a black man in my room!" (the audience laughs) Then she says "And I'm in no shape to be raped"!

Ok, so you aren't buying the season without Mike and Gloria, right? I still haven't decided if I would want season 9 or not. It's OK, but it is NOT really AITF to me. For me, I always considered when Mike & Gloria move to CA to be the last episode-lol

For years, most of the episodes in syndication, at least those I remember on Channel 5 in New York, would for the first several seasons cut out the quick one minute "tag" that would appear before the final end credits.

Rest assured, these episodes are complete and uncut on DVD, and don't fall in the category of syndicated prints that some other shows are falling victim to on DVD.
