Ok, I've been having some trouble with my computer the last few days (which is why I'm now on my Mom's computer to surf the forums). Every time I'm on a website on my computer, it takes forever to load a page. I mean, forever (and sometimes it doesn't even load all the way!) I find this happens moreso when I'm on a page that's image heavy. I don't have dial-up, so I don't know how this could happen (and since it hasn't happened before, I'm even more confused).
Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I ran my Spybot a million times, have my AVG virus scan operating, and even defragged my computer. I don't know what else to do. If anyone can help me, it would be very appreciated Thanks in advance.

have you made any changes or updates recently?
is this Windows XP? - if so, you could try to do a system restore http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...w_03may19.mspx otherwise, can you post a HijackThis! log for me? |

i do not see any evidence of spyware/malware/viruses on your system, so it could be a problem with IE, a temp file problem, or a conflict with some other program or driver.
have you added or changed anything lately? how long ago did you install iTunes? it seems to have left part of its installer running: - Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage. - Then expand the Services and Applications section and click on Services. - On the right-side of the screen, find the entry for InstallDriver Table Manager and double-click on it. - Change the Startup Type: to Manual. - Hit the OK button and close the Computer Management screen you could try CCleaner and/or CleanUp! to clean out all your temp files you might be able to disable some stuff, I'll look into it later, or you could try firefox to see if this is an IE-only problem |

Hey Roby, I don't remember when I installed i!tunes, but it wasn't too long ago. I just un-installed it now. I also checked my settings on the services and it was already on manual...Right now I'm trying to clean out my temp files, as you suggested. It's weird, though, because I always delete my cookies and temp files before signing off for the night-- is that a good thing to do? Thanks for the help you've been giving me so far, Roby

Sorry to be a pain....
But it still seems to be giving me trouble Pages take forever to load (the little Windows icon in the top right corner will stop moving and I'll have to refresh it over and over again to get a page to load fully), I can't watch videos on youtube.com anymore (never had a problem prior to this), and my computer just runs so slow. I've tried everything you suggested, except for using another internet browser. If I try firefox, will I be able to go back to IE if I choose to? Will it conflict with anything else? Thanks for all your help, Roby

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ one important thing that we will discover by trying firefox is whether it is just a problem with IE, Windows or some other problem ...and I am glad to help
