Is there an episode about Richie and Fonzie's first meeting? I remember that Fonzie was going to fight Richie and Richie stood his ground instead of backing down like everyone else who were challenged by Fonzie. Fonzie respected Richie for this and became his friend.

It is my favorite episode but I can't seem to find it. Does it really exist?

the only thing is you can tell that the flashback part was not really a flashback at all it was done for the our gang episode still classic though

Isn't that how most flashbacks are done, though? Anything else is just a clip show.

the characters developed so much from the 1st season to the 5th season a flashback here would have been much more sutiable

For that to be possible, they would have had to anticipate in the first season that they'd be doing this type of episode four years later and film those scenes then. I don't think anybody has that kind of foresight.
