Default I was surprised to see Penny Marshall in the Opening Credits of Blansky's Beauties

This was a show that was considered a lost spinoff of Happy days but I don't see how but the show did look a little chessy from the opening credits. I will give it a chance but my expectations are low-lol

TV TECHNICALLY

It is a spinoff but not really

Nancy Walker was supposed to be Howard Cunninghams sister. She guest starred on Happy Days in the same role once I think, and they decide to give her a show, I do not recall any mention of H.D. gang on BB, or any crossovers other than her 1 guest appearance, so it IS a spinoff, BUT NOT IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE, its a spinoff like MORK was, or MAUDE from All in the Family, a 1 shot deal turns into spinoff, NOT where regular characters get there own show, in the sense of Joanie Loves Chachi or The Ropers.

I guess it can be considered a spinoff since Nancy Blansky appeared on Happy Days a week before Blansky beauties premeired on ABC

In the 1950s and then her show takes place in the 1970s. Anyone have an explanation for that one?

Penny marshall was in a clip about 5 seconds before the opening credits started. So she wasn't in the actual opening credits

By having this character appear on "Happy Days" a week before the premiere of "Blansky's Beauties" does not make BB a spin-off of HD. Obviously, BB had already been sold to the network before this guest appearance on HD. The HD spot was nothing but a gimmick to draw viewers' attention to the new show they were about to launch. A true spin-off is a show that is created around a character or characters made popular on another show.

Not necesarily. Their have been instances where the character only appeared on the parent show once and then it was spun-off. This was one of those occasions.

But I think since the character Nancy Blansky was related to Howard Cunningham on Happy days defintely makes it a spinoff.
