Me: Hmm, Interesting. Pass the potatoes.

Things that others make a big deal about...honestly...I just see as another thing in life....take a moment, stop, reflect: And then move on.

Laugh? Because seriously, my parents told me just tonight they found me in a field being raised by wolves, so I'd just think it was a joke.

I am adopted. So were my sister and brother. I found out when I was seven. want to know what my reaction was?

I was ecstatic!!!!why???? Because I was chosen, I was wanted...how many people can say that????

I was wanted even before my parents knew whether I was a boy or a girl, whether I was healthy or not. As a matter of fact, my parents adopted my brother even after they found out he would need some medical care for the first few years. My parents went to the hospital to see their new son and when my father saw that his new son had hip dysplasia (sp?), he turned to my mother. My mother said it didn't matter that he was sick, she loved him and he needed a family.
I love my parents. My "adopted" mother died when I was six, but I was blessed to be adopted by a wonderful family. I thank my birth "parents" for finding my family and I thank God my biological mother didn't abort me. I don't consider my family my adopted family. I only use that term so others can differentiate when I speak abt them. My father and my mother are the people that cared for me, raised me and loved me.

Sometimes I think I would have been better off if my parents had put me up for adoption. When I was growing up they acted like they didn't wnt me around half the time and I always seemed to be in somebodys way. My mom even told me that my dad had wanted her to have an abortion when she was pregnant with me. Another time she told me she was going to put me in a foster home if my grades didn't improve and if I didn't start getting along better with my siblings. Today I don't even speak to my mother anymore. My relationship with my dad is better than it was when I was a kid and I think he feels a lot of guilt for the way he treated me because he's always sending me money to try and make up for it. I've pretty much forgiven him but the bad memories will never go away.
Anyways if I ever adopted a kid I would make sure they knew all along that they were adopted. I wouldn't try to keep it from them.

why would I be mad? I mean, unless i was abused or something, I'd feel the same way because these people saved me from a bad situation (assumming, my "biological" parents were in a bad situation)

There was a time that I asked my mother if I was adopted? She laughed and laughed and said No. I thought this because I had a huge rocky relationship with her. My father was a gem but my mother was cold.

I think being adopted is good if you have a wonderful family to come into. There are so many children who need love and understanding. I wouldn't mind adopting a child. I would love them like they were my own.

Well, I found out something not too far from that awhile ago, and to say I was shocked, would probably be the understatement of the century. You always wonder how you'd react to hearing something like that, never ever expecting it, then it happens, and it's like WHOA, hits you alot harder than you ever could have imagined. A punch in the stomache doesn't even describe it. More like a punch to every part of your body consecutively. Not a fun experience!!

My family members all look way too much alike for any of us to be adopted, but I had a friend in highschool that was so bitter bc she was adopted and I used to try and tell her that she should be grateful that these wonderful people chose you, but she didn't buy it.
