Today I went to Wal-Mart hoping to find Gilligan's Island Season 3..but did I find it? NO! They didn't even have any of the seasons..
I was looking foward to watching it tonight too.. Sorry thought I would just share my anger at Wal-Mart..

The thing is with so many TV shows being released on DVD, stores stop ordering the older ones in order to make room for new titles on the shelf. All of the GI DVDs are easily available on the web (e.g. Amazon, Barnes&Noble, etc.) There are always people selling them on eBay too, sometimes for much less than elsewhere.

I got mine at Walmart shortly after they were released ~ check Amazon, sometimes you can find them used in really good condition for a much lower price than the brand new one.

I got all three the day they came out, but everytime I go to Circuit City I see them. You should try there or like TV Land Fan said try Amazon.

Hollywood Video doesn't carry "Gilligan's Island" at all.

I would guess that stores like Wal Mart, K Mart, Target etc would probably only have a very limited # of episode sets for the old shows that we all love... with so many shows being released (new as well as old), they only have very limiited shelf space for these sets, and thus, they're usually 'sold out' fairly quickly.
If you're looking for a series that's been out for a little while, and you want to buy it in a store rather than wait for an online order to be shipped, it's usually a better idea to try a store like Best Buy, Circuit City or Borders...maybe places like Barnes and Noble and Books a Million might have the videos too, but usually Best Buy and Circuit City are where you'd have the best chance of finding a show that's been out for a while...at least that's been my experience. |
