occasionally my jaws seem to just lock up for a little while and i can only open my mouth so wide. sometimes it's just one or the other, sometimes both at the same time. i can forcefully open my mouth sometimes and get it back into place, but if it's too tight it hurts like ****ING HELL, i can HEAR the bones creaking and it just simply goes back to how it was; i just have to let it go back to normal on its own, which i think is usually helped by relaxing it..it happened for the first time last april just before a singing performance when i was trying to release tension in my jaws and one of them just got stuck and i couldn't open my mouth very wide for the next few hours, and it's been happening quite frequently since then...so i suppose that if anyone knows of anything to do about it then please tell me cuz i should be eating right now but i can't because they're both locked up pretty tightly and i can hardly fit a damn thing in there.

Hmm That's never happened to me. My jaws get tired now and then but they never lock up. If this has been going on since last April, I'd see a doctor about it before it gets worse.

I have a loud jaw and it aggravates me.
I was at the table with my DD's the other night and my oldest tells me' Mom; what's wrong with your jaw'. |

I didn't check out the link, but I'm assuming it's about TMJ syndrome. You might just have that. I would see a specialist who treats jaw problems. You may want to see your regular dentist first. He or she can refer you to a specialist if you don't want to search for someone on your own.

That happens to me sometimes, but when it does it's only for a second.

No, but if I stretch it out far enough I can usually make some cool popping sounds.

This has been happening to me for years, and it happens quite often. What I do is rub the side of my face where my jaw is, and this sometimes helps to loosen it abit. I've had an X-ray done before, and I think I remember the dentist saying that this happens to me because there is a tissue in there that got out of place.

i used to have that. my orthodontist said i was grinding my teeth at night and when i got up i couldnt open my mouth until i cracked my jaw. it was a pain the in butt. i had to wear this thing in my mouth at night to help stop grinding my teeth but it just made it worse.....
all this was like 2 or 3 years ago and it just went away after a while |
