I just joined a gym and was wondering what workout routines people use here to lose weight.
I'm a guy, I'm down from about 250 to 200 already, but need to lose a little more and I need to tone up loose skin, especially around the tummy. Any ideas? Also, do people have luck with the no-carb diets? I've never tried it, but I like the idea of getting more protein in if I'm going to work out more. |

congrats on your weight loss!!
I think a diet in moderation is the key... some people have wonderful stories to tell about the carb diet... others gain it back as soon as they go back to eating normally. Def. get more protein if you're working out.. but don't load up on fat just because you're going "low carb" Keep up the great work!! |

I do 13-15 miles a day on the bike at the gym. I also have a very, very strict low-calorie AND low-carb diet. I drink plenty of water.
I've lost 8 1/2 pounds within 2 weeks, so I must be doing something right. |

I went from 220 to 160 in about 6 months. I went from being a fat ass to being a hard ass. I went from a gut to a 6-pack.
Here's what I did. I cut my calories way back. I cut out all sugar and empty calories ie.. pop, chips, junk food. I drank alot of water, I was in the bathroom about once an hour. I know this sounds horrible but it isn't, I actually ate 6 times a day. It's all in what you eat. 1. Always eat breakfast 1 egg & 3 egg whites & a bowl of oatmeal or whole grain cereal 2. about 3 later hours have a snack some fat free yogurt or some peanut butter & an apple or raw veggies(as many raw veggies as you want) 3. couple hours have lunch grilled or baked chicken salad with fat free dressing(not too much) & some steamed veggies 4. about 3 later hours have another snack make your self a tasty smoothie, use berries, skim milk or I like the V8 10 calorie juices. 5. Dinner time about 2 hours later. Chicken breast, fish filet(grilled or baked) brown rice and more veggies. 6. 1 more snack some salt free almonds & fat free ice cream I know you can't eat that every day so I would reccomend getting the book The Abs Diet, you can find it on eBay for less than $10. I also had it good where I worked, we got 30-40 min breaks at least 3 times a night. So I would go to the gym at work & get on the elyptical runner & go for 20 min about 3 times a night at least 3 times a week. I hated the treadmil & I didn't feel like the bike did me much good. as for the loose skin you'll need to bulk up with muscle, you can find some good routines here http://www.bodybuilding.com or someone at the gym could help you out. Good luck & keep in shape

So far, I've just had a lot of success simply by eating less. I know it sounds so simple, and who knows if I'll keep the weight off. But I found in the past that if it gets on my plate, I'm eating it. So now I'm very careful only to put what I need on my plate. That, and I've discovered the joys of Clif bars before a workout. Those things are amazing. Has anyone had any luck with using a sauna for weight loss? Or is that just water weight, and temporary? I really want to firm up my skin, too. I'm a big GG fan, too. I feel like I'm the only one who just hates Luke and Lorelei together, though. |

choc. peanut butter zone bars are awesome...I used to play hockey about everyday in high school but since thats not an option anymore i sometimes lift free-weights but mainly i run about 3 miles every day, I love running, you just are in this zone, and its so refreshing, I love being active, and I generally watch what I eat, but nothing to serious, I like my body

Luke is romanticized as an intelligent person, the stereotype of the warm-hearted silent man's man with a gruff exterior. I hate that stereotype. It doesn't exist. Two of the four, maybe. But not like that. If he's really all that, he would have turned the day-to-day operations of the diner over to a manager long ago. Where are his aspirations? Lorelai is a dynamic, energetic person. She should be travelling throughout the world learning and consulting. She shouldn't be confined like Luke expects. She's done the whole child-raising thing, it's time for her to discover the world. And don't get me started on the games they're playing with the wedding date. Both of them. If your feet are that cold, it's either time to stop standing on the same block of ice or it's time to find a new pair of boots. |

Crunches will do wonders for your tummy-flab. Go up to a 30-degree angle and then hold it for 10 seconds. Then repeat until you are ripped.
Also, remember to breathe. Breathing is important! Congrats on the weight loss! bodybuilding.com // this website will be of help, I'd think. My SN there is Quencherita.

Although 13-15 miles a day on the bike does sound like overdoing it a bit. |
