Default What do you think was TV Land's best year?

What year do you think TV Land made the best programming moves, added the best shows, etc?

I think the best years were 2001 and 2002, anything before then wasn't too impressive. There weren't a lot of originals, but the ones they did (Inside TV Land) were very good. They added some great shows, like "Get Smart", "I Love Lucy", "The Love Boat", "Gilligan's Island", "The Rockford Files", "Batman", "The Beverly Hillbillies", and they had TONS of great programming features, like "Better Living Through Television", "Box Sets", "Sunday Best", "TV Land Kitschen", "Twice as Nice", Lucy on Saturday Nights, etc....

I would say between 1997-98 they had some great shows on then.

I have to say 2002. It was my first real year of having it (got it on 12/20/01), and everything was just so...I don't know what to say.

This was the year of the Screen Gems deal, and all of the shows that came out of that. We had Donna Reed, The Flying Nun, Gidget, The Rookies, Father Knows Best, Dennis the Menace and other on a weekday basis! And on Friday and Saturday nights, we had Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and The Monkees! Burns and Allen and Hazel on Sunday mornings!

Box Sets were GREAT. There were so many shows that are NEVER aired in those box sets. Founder of Lost Loves, Gloria, Archie Bunker's Place, Fish, Bridget Loves Bernie, and other great stuff. I definitely miss these a lot.

The marathons were great as well. The Norman Lear's 80th Birthday marathon was AWESOME. Forever Fernwood and Maude!

The TC 25th Anniversary marathon included an episode of Man About the House, the show that TC was based on.

The Merry-Thon was amazing. The Merry-Thon used to be so great back then. The New Dick Van Dyke Show was included in them, and I think in Christmas 2000, Flo was on.

I miss a lot of the regular shows on from that period, too: Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Mary Tyler Moore, Barney Miller, Batman, Laverne & Shirley, The Jeffersons, The Rockford Files, Gilligan's Island and others.

Damn, I miss those days...

Probably before my cable channel added this channel to our line-up I would't say things have gone downhill since it been on my line-up,but if I have to spend all of this year watching all of these repeats that will be on over, and over, and over again,I'll probably

I do like some of the shows on there today but I have to admit I liked the look years ago. I believe it was the late 90s when they would advertise the upcoming show in like an outdoor scene on a sign/billboard. Hope someone remembers what I'm talking about and that I wasn't just dreamin' this stuff up!

I remember watching TVLand for a brief period of time then and I remember they promoted My Three Sons that way.

1996-2002 were great years for the network. 2003 was off to a good start.

I liked 2002 the best. I was like JT and loving all the specials and new shows (although we only got a dozen or so episodes of some of them).

Oh, I remember the outdoor-type advertising that said "You're watching TV Land...." and birds were chirping in the background. No split screens, no original shows, no split-screens. Nothing like it is now. TV Land was a class act up until about 2004.
