Default Wow, maybe the later episodes aren't as great as I thought.

Thanks to Hallmark and TVLand I overdose on this show lately. The last time I posted here, I was rarely watching LHOTP. And I thought this board would actually be thriving now because this show is on so often, but unfortunately I'm wrong. Anyhoo, I always liked the show in the later seasons with the exception of season 8 and 9 in general. Now that I see it more, and often will watch an early episode the same day I see a later episode, I realize how much the show changed. Does anyone else agree, the general atmosphere of the show after season 4 was often odd? Laura wasn't very spunky anymore, and that Mary... wooh, she usually couldn't get through a 6 word or longer sentence without an unnecessary pause. When her eyesight went out the window so did her ability to speak normally. It was usually laughable. Except for tragic scenes--those were played out well.

So, since this board is kinda dead, come in here and tell me what you think about how the show changed later on. Good or bad.

I thought Laura got really boring after she got married. She did a complete 180 from being a little girl to a woman in less than a season. The cat fight with Brenda Sue was interesting, though. I hated when they made Nellie nice. I would have liked to have seen her have a relapse and smack Percival around a little. I hated James and Cassandra. Those characters were pointless. I think Michael Landon got a little lazy and uninterested in the last few seasons, and it shows.

Default this happens very often

when a show starts losing main characters the show usually run out of gas
though i like a few of the season 9 episodes and loved the final concluding movie (THE LAST FAREWELL) Id have to agree the show was better earlier on.

I actually started liking the show less when Mary went blind and they adopted Albert. I knew the show would never be the same again.
