Default Favorite Barney Miller Episode

What's your favorite episode of Barney Miller? I know my favorite season is 3, but haven't narrowed down an episode. I really like "Quarantine" pts. 1 & 2. A lot of funny moments in that one. Especially Lugar reacting to the two gay guys in the station and Harris "talking" in his sleep about his coworkers while they all listen in.

I don't know the title of the episode, but there was a show in which a guy that Harris and Wojo picked up thought he was a werewolf. For me, that was a standout episode, esp. Barney's reaction to the "werewolf"'s howling! I used to have that one on an audio tape.

YEMANA: "Where's the file on hallucinations? .. Oh, here it is."
WOJO: "I didn't know we had one. Is that whole file on hallucinations?"
FISH: "Just be thankful that they don't have enough brains to organize!"

*********************

BARNEY (hearing prisoner's howling): "What's going on here? This is a
police station--not a horror movie!"
YEMANA: "I could've sworn he was starting to change--I saw hair
growing out of his face!"
BARNEY: "That's a beard! Haven't you ever seen a beard before?"
YEMANA: "Not in my family."

That was a very funny episode. I also like when they found out Wojo was bringing in "a werewolf".

HARRIS: It's Kapeckni. He thinks he's a werewolf.

BARNEY: A werewolf up here?

YEMANA: I better put some papers down in the cage.

My favourite episode is the one where Wojo's girlfriend made some brownies and Wojo brought them to the stationhouse for the boys and it turns out his girlfriend put hash(I think it was hash)in them! Fish had the funniest line:"First time in years I felt this good and it has to be illegal!"

The judge ( me ) has come up with "Miss best Barney Miller ep for 2006 " first, its the second runner up, the ep where Dietrich had to face the lie detector and straight-faced claimed to be an alien without making the machine register even a slight diff in his demenor...
the first runner up is the ep with the werewolf ...who can forget Yamana's famous line " Down Mr Kopeknie, down!!!!"???
And the winner, is the drugged brownie ep, again with Jack Soo delivering the funniest line in the series, answering the phone , totally stoned with the slurred Japanese phone greeting " Moshi, moshi....."
To accept this award....ME...ty, byyyyyyeeeeeeeeee * Exit stage right !!!*

All of those are great episodes and among my favorites. Does anyone know if any more of the seasons will be released on DVD?

Hash is very funny -- I also like the Christmas Story, where Nick Yemana's girlfriend is a hooker and the other detectives don't know how to tell him.

I liked the one where Wojo and the detective played by Linda Lavin have to play a married couple on a stakeout in a hotel.

There was an episode where this guy comes to the precinct saying that his daughter was captured by some cult, and it turned out she was working in an Indian Restaurant in lower Manhattan.

They bring the restaurant owner into the station and he's got long hair and robes. They're questioning him.

"Just what do you do down there anyway"?

He goes,

"About $70,000 after taxes".

I also like an episode where Inspector Lugger is bored (well, isn't he always!), but Barney suggests some hobbies. He tells the inspector to take up fishing. Lugger says, "Eh, Barn, I'd have to go out to the "Island" (Long Island). I'd be sittin' on the end of a smelly dock, with a string danglin' in the water for hours waitin' for a fish to bite. What for? Ah, fishin', who needs it, eh Barn?"

The way he said it gets me lol.

I also like the shows where things were beyond Captain Miller's control -- like the weather in "Rain" or "Blizzard".
