Do you think BOOKMAN should have been in the Evans House on the day of James Funeral?

I'm watching this episode now and to me he just didn't fit in this episode primarily because James could not stand him and also that the Evans Family didn't like him. In Part one they were just telling him how much they can't stand him and then he is in the house with everyone else after the funeral. He could have been seen by Bringing the ham and paying his respects but not come inside the Apt.

Well, although BOOKMAN was trying hard to give his condolences, it was JAMES EVANS himself whom gave BOOKMAN the nickname of BUFFALO-BIPPY,
a manner of speaking!? Now if J.J. had thought just once of using BRUCE LEE'S
tactics, well, BOOKMAN would've flown out of the window heading for the streets below resulting in his passing away as well, but I guess that the only BOOKMAN would get to pass on c/o the show's producer NORMAN LEAR is for a tv reuinon movie in which BOOKMAN suffers a heart attack at FLORIDA'S funeral, and falls down into the grave! So as to rather, or not he had the right to attend JAMES' funeral is a totally neutral area for me.

as i recall, Bookman dropped off a ham outside the door, and then Willona tricked him by taking Bookman's ham and there went Bookman trying to retrieve it from her and he followed her to the door where Flo invited him to stay and eat. So, Flo is the one who really invited him to stay. Bookman didn't want to go inside, he only wanted to give his condolonces, which is the proper thing to do, no matter what feelings you may have had for the deceased.

I know, Bookman dropping off the ham was a nice thing, it just didn't look right for him to be in the Evans Apt after he was just trying to them out a couple of days ago. I think he should have done what Ned did, drop off the Ham and leave.
