Default What's your opinion on dating websites like E Harmony and Match.com?

Do you think they are good or bad? My cousin met a girl on Match.com and now they are getting married. Me personally though, I guess I'm a little old fashioned. I use to like to meet people face to face.

I guess if that's how people want to date, but I wouldn't date someone I met online. That's the thing with computers, someone could say they're someone they're not...

Can't always meet your soulmate where you live. For all you know, your soulmate could live in a totally different state. And I'd rather date someone I met online than go to a bar anyday.

To each his own though.

I think their ridiculous, you could be talking to a potential ax murderer. Besides, you can't establish a good relationship with someone you can't see.

The chances of that happening though, I think, are just as likely as meeting somebody at a nightclub, then going home with them and suffering the same fate.

I think they can be pretty cool. Iv'e been a member of a few, infact, I probably still am, and Iv'e had both good and bad experiences. I think alot of it depends on which dating site you choose. Unfortunately with some dating sites, if you sign up for one, they end up automatically signing you up for about 10 others. That's probably the biggest con to joining. I think if someone is going to join, E Harmony is probably your best, and safest bet. Even if it does take 5 hours to fill out those damn personality profiles.

My uncle met his new wife at, I think, E Harmony. I don't know if it'll last. 7 kids in a four bedroom house, now a six bedroom house, plus it's a really small house, but it seems to have worked for a lot of people.

Well, I think these websites are typically used so that you can find people that live near you, so that you can potentially go out with them. My brother has done this a few times.

I think they can be very helpful. I met my husband through one and my brother met his wife through one and neither one of our spouses are ax murders. I think it's one of the best ways to meet people who share your interests. You just have to be very careful.
