Any Chance of TCS Season 1's DVD Being Rereleased Unedited? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Guys,

As most of you know, in one of the stupidest decisions made, it was decided to release Season 1's DVD of The Cosby Show from the edited syndicated packages, rather than simply go into the NBC archives and get the uncut master episodes. As a result, veiwers are seeing the same syndicated prints on the DVD's that are shown in syndication. Or another way of putting it is, you have to pay $40 for the same content you can see for free!

Since Season 2 and subsequent seasons will PRESUMABLY be uncut on DVD, do you think that the first season DVD will be rereleased uncut?

Theres probably a good reason why they wont release the uncut versions, maybe its something they dont want us to see.

I don't think they will re-release it. If they do though, what will they put on the back of the box? Uncut episodes - really!

If they don't plan to re-release it, I think they should have included the missing scenes as a bonus feature on the season 2 DVD or offered a disc through the mail with proof of purchase.

Yes it was confirmed yesterday on the DVD board that the eps on the season 2 are all over 24 min in length

I don't think there is a season set of ANY television show that has been released a second time with replaced footage.

If it's happened before, tell me where.

Why would season 1 be re-released?-lol What kind of sense would that make? That's why it was said all seasons starting with season 2 will be UNCUT. They are not going to go back and release season 1 when it's already been released.
