"Tom & Jerry" Intro from WPIX-TV - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I joined the Yahoo! Group last night under the title "Vintage WPIX-TV", and I found this interesting MP3 of the old "Tom & Jerry" opening. This was from back in the 60's. I remember seeing that show on WPIX-TV when I was a kid, here is a description by panedit:

This is one my favorites -- the WPIX Tom & Jerry intro used for many years. As an added treat, I've included the "we will return" and "now back to our show" bumpers featuring classical music, and fireworks on the screen.

I can't put an MP3 file of the theme because you can join the Yahoo! Groups so I ended up uploading this MP3 file on Yousendit. You must listen to this intro. It will last 7 days depending on your download. Here is the MP3 version of the intro.

wow, haven't heard that in a while. WPIX had sum really cool programming b4 it became the WB

I don't really know why this opening for "Tom & Jerry" on WPIX-TV exist today? Could be on Boomerang perhaps. WPIX had been running old "Tom & Jerry" for years since the 70's and 80's from its pre-WB era. As you might say this WB owns the "Tom & Jerry" library after WPIX had been ran old T&J cartoons and Tex Avery shorts from MGM (now part of Sony) before Ted Turner had it.
