Default TvLand All in the Family Top 10 moments

For those who missed it or those who need a recap

#10 Meet the Bunkers (pilot of the show)
#9 The Swingers (Edith mistakenly invites over some swingers Rue McClanahan guest stars)
#8 The Baby. Mike and Gloria have Joey. (Archie has a black face)
#7 The accident (Edith hits a Priest car with a can of peaches and leaves a note.)
#6 Wedding flashback (flashback of Mike and Gloria's wedding)
#5 Henry's farewell (Henry leaves and George Jefferson makes his 1st appearance)
#4 Mike meets Archie (flashback of when Mike meets Archie) viewers top #1 but Tvland made it number 4.
#3 Mike and Archie get locked in a freezer. They bond well and share special moments.
#2 The Stivics go West. Mike and Gloria move to California.
#1 Sammy's vist (Sammy Davis junior vists the Bunkers. He kisses Archie.)

Hope this helps. I enjoyed it.

I think I missed it. Are they rerunning the top ten at all on Sunday or was that it?

that is not the best list. There are a lot better ones than The Stivicks Go West and When they get locked together.

I am surprised that none of the episodes when Edith stood up to Archie did not make the top ten. Those episodes when Edith stood up to Archie was a turning point in the character of Edith Bunker. It showed that she can have backbone when dealing with Archie when she needs to. The episode when she was nearly raped on her 50th birthday should had made the top ten. That was truly a classic.

They also mentioned that Archie Bunker was originally named Archie Justice.

Yeah, I remember reading that the original title for All In The Family was going to be called "And Justice For All" and the lead character was going to be named Archie Justice.

I agree 100%! I for one was kind of disappointed with their picks. The rape episode should of made it, as well as the episode where Gloria has a miscarriage and Cousin Maude's visit. I did enjoy the cast interviews though.

yeah, Holiday Episodes and All In the Family episodes have had some better interviews than the rest of top ten. I like when they have the directors and writers interviewed and not just the stars. They had John Rich and Paul Bogart on. It was great they included archive footage of a Carrol O'Connor interview too.

I agree this was a rather weak list I thought .Just off hand I think the cousin Oscar episode, the one where Edith goes through the change,Archie Eats and Runs,Pay The Twenty Dollars were very much top ten episodes. Also how about serious episodes that were still really funny like Archie Is Branded or the one where the handicapped young man likes Gloria or the one were Lionel dates Archie's niece? I think some of the episodes in the list were overrated.
