would you do if you were in charge of the show's ninth season? The catch is that both Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama have left the series. Those are the two that I heard don't want to come back next year. that's why I chose them.

First up I KNOW THE SHOW WOULD SUCK! This is just a chance to be creative and see what you would do. And you can't say you would just end the show. That defeats the purpose of answering. I'm not trying to sound rude, I can just picture someone posting "I wouldn't do a 9th season. I'd end it now." And I want to hear your ideas.

Here's my version of season 9: 2006-2007

Hyde gets tired of being in Point Place. After his breakup with Sam (it's gonna happen), he begs Jackie to come back (in his own cool begging way). She turns him down. He decides to leave to return to Las Vegas, where he calls the Formans to let them know he's got a steady job and will be okay. Hyde gives the record store to Randy and Leo, who become business partners. By the end of the season, they run the store into the ground, and it goes out of business. Mostly due to Leo.

Fez gets word that his mother is ill. He decides to visit her. When he returns, Fez tells the group, sans Hyde who already lives in Vegas, that he's returning to his homeland to live. His mother has passed away and he wants to help out the rest of his family. He promises to return in a few years, saying that America is where he belongs. That doesn't happen, however. Throughout the season, he sends the gang post cards. By the end of the season, Fez sends a final postcard stating that he has become the ruler of his country and decides to stay for good.

With Fez gone, Jackie gets the apartment to herself. She invites Donna to move in with her and they become roomies.

Ben Savage (Boy Meets World) joins the show as Gary Simmons, Randy's best friend. He's moved back to town after divorcing his wife (after a year of marriage). Randy and Gary get an apartment together, in the same apartment building as Jackie and Donna. Zack Ward (Titus) joins the show as another tenent in the apartment. Brett is a struggling rock and roll musician. He hangs out with the gang.

Of course, the way I have it set up, leaves really no reason to go back to the Forman house. So like the "Boy Meets World" last season, the parents are bumped to recurring. Every once in a while, the gang goes to the Forman house to visit Red, Kitty and of course, Bob. But there will also be episodes focusing on those three characters as well. The gang no longer hangs out in the basement. With all of their apartments (and the absense of Eric and Hyde), it would just seem silly to still be hanging out in that basement.

Ashton Kutcher makes one last guest appearance towards the end of the season. The episode is set in Chicago. It's set up like a pilot for a new Kelso show, even though there won't be one, of course.

Lisa Robin Kelly returns for an episode as Laurie! In the episode, she ends up dating Brett. Brett, of course, doesn't know that she knows the gang. They break up at the end of the episode and Laurie goes back to wherever it was she went to.

The Series Finale:
Special Guest Star Topher Grace visits (as Eric Forman, of course) to introduce to his parents the new love of his life. Eric is shocked and saddened by all the changes that have occured since he left (Hyde leaving, Fez leaving, Kelso leaving, Donna's new boyfriend). He tells the family that the two of them are getting married. The same episode features the wedding (it's an hour long episode). Eric says goodbye to Point Place again, as he decides to move back to Texas, where his new bride was born and raised. Eric informs the family that he's still going to become a teacher.

On the hood of the Vista Cruiser, Eric says goodbye to Donna, his first love. They kiss (nothing romantic, remember they're both in other relationships). Eric then says "Man the 70's turned out to be the best decade ever!" He then gets in his new car, where his wife is waiting for him and they drive off.

THE END

The episodes go as follows: I'm only listing important episode plots. The rest of the episodes are just regular episodes.

(These aren't the episode titles. Every episode with an "*" in front of it, features Red, Kitty and Bob.)

BTW, it was really hard to figure out a way to get rid of both Hyde and Fez. I know the explanations I went with weren't the best. But I'm never going to have control of the show, so who cares?

Actually the return of Laurie is why my post says "Last Edited". I posted the thread without her return. As I read it, I realized I left her out. I figured it would be funny if Brett introduced his new girlfriend to the group and it turns out to be Laurie. The facial reactions from Donna and Jackie would be great.

Also, I'm positive that Zack Ward would be a great addition to the show. As for Ben Savage, I think he would be good on the show. However, I was really just suggesting him. They could bring in an unknown to play the role of Gary Simmons.

i do have one idea but it would only work if wilmer and lisa could both return fes is in town on some sort of weekend visit with a new ladyfriend from his homeland at the same time laurie comes home on the pre text of needing money because her latest boyfriend has kicked her to the curb but it turns out she has come to town to reclaim fes not because she loves him or cares any thing about him but because she always wants what she cant have and she is just furius when she sees fes and his new lady friend this of courase sets the stage for a good old fashoned laurie catfight

I'm gonna write up as many episodes as I can. Of course if anything that happens in season 8 changes what I have planned for season 9 - oh well!

901 -
Hyde's life is turned upside down ever since his relationship (and marriage) with Samantha has ended. Realizing that he was meant to be with Jackie, he asks her to get back together. To his surprise, Jackie turns him down. Hyde says goodbye to the gang and heads off to Las Vegas. Before he goes, he gives the Record Shop to Randy and Leo.

NOTE: This is Danny Masterson's final appearance. Wilmer Valderrama guest stars in the first three episodes of season nine (much like Kelso of season eight).

902 -
Fez gets a letter from his family stating that his mother is ill. He decides to visit her, fearing she may die. So he leaves Point Place for a week. Meanwhile, Randy gets stressed out running the Record Shop. Leo, on the other hand is calm and clueless about the situation. Red gets a phone call from Hyde, saying that he's got a job and is going to be alright.

903 -
Fez returns to Point Place in order to have a proper goodbye. His mother has passed away. He has decided to move back to his country to help out his family. Donna, Jackie, Randy, the Formans and Bob throw Fez a leaving the country party. Jackie realizes that she has the apartment to herself and invites Donna to move in with her. Donna accepts.

NOTE: This is Wilmer Valderrama's final episode. Throughout the season, the gang reads the postcards he sends. With Fez gone, only Donna and Jackie
remain from the original group. Which also means Randy now has seniority.

904 -
While Leo tries outrageous ideas to improve the Record Shop, Randy still stresses over being the manager. Gary Simmons comes to visit his high school pal, Randy. Meanwhile, Kitty goes crazy when she gets a phone call from Eric, saying he's not coming back. He's met a woman and fallen in love.

NOTE: This is Ben Savage's first episode as Gary Simmons.

905 -
Now that Gary is single (he's just gotten divorced) Randy insists that they get an apartment together. They move into the same apartment building that Jackie and Donna live in. The four of them meet their new neighbor, Brett Hogan. Brett's a struggling rock and roll musician. He befriends the group and they all have a 360.

NOTE: This is the first episode with Zack Ward as Brett Hogan.

906 -
Randy and Leo get a musician to make a public appearance at the Record Shop. Donna, who covers the appearance on her radio show, gets Brett a brief gig. He practices and makes his radio debut at the Record Shop. The next day, Brett gets a gathering of groupies. Meanwhile, Gary goes into a fit, missing his ex-wife.

Meanwhile, Jackie gets the hots for Gary but is too nervous to tell him.

Red and Kitty (more Kitty) invites Bob and his new girlfriend over for dinner. Once at the Forman house, Bob's date, Kathy whips out a gun and holds them all hostage. Back at the apartment, Randy, Gary, Leo and Brett have a guy's night out and go to a strip club. The next day, Donna finds out and is furious at Randy.

Randy, upset over the Record Shop losing business, begins to think about his life. He realizes how great his life has been after meeting Donna. So he proposes to her. Donna freaks out and says she'll get back to him. She goes to the Forman's seeking advice. When she returns to Randy, she rejects his proposal, but insists she still loves him.

NOTE: This is the episode where the gang recieves Fez's postcar informing them that he has become the ruler of his country and won't be returning.

Donna: "Wow, Fez is actually the ruler of ... of ... of his country!"

915 -
Jackie, Donna, Randy, Gary and Brett go on a road trip to visit Kelso in Chicago. Once there, they find that he's back together with Brooke. Jackie has a weak moment and hits on Kelso. He's now torn between Brooke and Jackie. Meanwhile, back at Point Place, Leo stays with Bob for a couple days. In the end, before Kelso chooses Brooke, Jackie apologizes for her actions.

NOTE: Ashton Kutcher returns for one last time as Kelso.

916 -
Leo is running the Record Shop alone and has a 360 with a customer (played by Cheech Marin!!). When Randy comes back from a week vacation, he is furious at Leo. He also finds out that the store is going out of business (Hyde's dad called with the news). At the apartment, Gary's ex-wife comes to visit and ends up falling for Brett (upsetting Gary)!

NOTE: This is a big episode because of the reunion of Cheech and Chong! Although it's only a couple scenes, the audience goes crazy.

917 -
Randy and Leo end their partnership running the Record Shop. Randy realizes he has to find another job and goes on a job hunt. He can't find anything. Trying to cheer him up, Donna says she'll marry him. It works, Randy gets happy. It all changes by the end of the episode when Donna changes her mind. Kitty invites the gang over for dinner (not a great B-Plot, I know).

919 -
Brett brags about his new girlfriend and invites her over to Randy's apartment for dinner. Donna, Jackie, Randy and Gary sit around the table and wait to meet Brett's girlfriend. She finally arrives. It's Laurie Forman!! Brett has no idea that Donna and Jackie know her. In the end, Laurie dumps Brett and leaves.

NOTE: This is the big return of Lisa Robin Kelly as Laurie. This is also her final appearance. She has a line going something like "I felt different the last timne I was here." Referring to the second actress playing Laurie.

920 -
Bob hates living in the big empty house, so he decides to move into an apartment. Donna comes to help him pack. Red and Kitty also help him. Meanwhile, Jackie tries to tell Gary that she loves him, but suspects he has a girlfriend and gets depressed.

NOTE: This is Don Stark's final episode. With so much going on in the two part finale, the producers decided to give Bob his own farewell episode.

921 -
Eric Forman returns to Point Place to introduce his fiancee, Tara, to his family. Eric and Randy finally meet and both discuss dating Donna. In a split screen moment, Donna and Tara also discuss dating Eric. Brett gets an offer to join a rock band and tour America. Gary gets the biggest shock of his life - Leo is his father! (Part 1 of 2)

NOTE: Topher Grace returns as Eric for the two part finale. Much to all the fan's dismay, Eric and Donna don't end up together.

922 -
In part two of the series finale, Eric gets ready for his wedding to Tara. Red, Kitty, Donna, Randy, Jackie, Gary, Leo and Brett attend the wedding. Eric's made the decision to move to Texas, where Tara's family lives. After the wedding, Brett leaves Point Place to join his new rock band and tour America. Randy wants to know where his relationship with Donna is going. She doesn't want to get married, but agrees to move in with him. Jackie finally confesses her feelings to Gary and they agree to start dating. Leo realizes he made a mistake not being there for Gary and insists on rooming with his son (Donna and Randy take Jackie's apartment. She moves out of the building).

I gotta say that it would just be a good ending if Eric returns and fights Randy for Donna for who will marry her.Eric & Donna get married like they were supposed to.We also find out where Fez is from

TVAdam, I Like the way you did it only I would add a few things. Diedrich Bader would join the cast as the landlord (Kind of how he was in Office Space only more 70's-ish). And In one of the episodes I would have Bob burn the house down and have to move in with the Forman's and Red and Kitty treat him like eric and he starts hanging out with donna like they are best friends. I think that episode would be wicked funny. besides that I think every thing you said would hit.
