Default One more week with John

Only one more week with John, or Paul Hennessey. "Goodbye" (both parts) airs next friday at 4:00. (January 20th)

Awww! I really like his episodes. I remember watching "Goodbye" the first time, and I was crying for a week!

OMG, they really are playing it? There was a rumor that it wasn't going to be playing for "reasons" but I'm glad it's playing...even if it does make me cry. I video taped it b/c I didn't know if it was going to be on again or not. Aren't there actually episodes that they aren't showing? What I mean is, are they playing every single episode from that show or not?

Oh my god. I'm going to go crazy next Friday. I can't watch those episodes. I will go crazy. I cry so hard whenever I watch those. But I'll watch it for John. He is my angel. I miss you so much darling. I feel so lost with out you.

So far they showed every episode in order except:

Trick Or Treehouse
Paul Meets His Match
All I Want For Christmas

It's gonna be really really sad. That episode was sooo well done. I watched it again the other night. I recorded it when it was orginally on, along with the first Thanksgiving without Paul, which was very sad as well.....GET THE TISSUES!

"Goodbye" made me cry. And I don't cry a lot. The main thing that got me crying was when Bridget went downstairs to see her grandparents. Just the look on her face as she went to hug them was emotional. And of course Cate looking to her parents for support was very sad. Also just knowing that John was gone in real life made it that much more powerful. (Unlike James Evans on "Good Times." It was still sad, but you could always go "oh well, at least he's alive in real life.")

Looks like James Garner and David Spade will be returning to the show pretty soon. And hey, that's the good part about the show getting canceled young. At least we'll have fewer episodes to watch before we're back to the Paul Hennessey season! As opposed to if it ran for a few more seasons.

The first season was the best, but season Three comes pretty close....I just wish there was an actual Series Finale, rather than only the Third-Season Finale. (Which was just another episode)....ABC owed it to them to have a nice ending. With John gone, it wasn't as good, but it was still the Best ABC sitcom, during it's run, even after he was gone. (IMO)...Much better than "My wife and Kids", "George Lopez", "Hope and Faith", "Less Than Perfect", etc. And it was the only TGIF show that actually would fit in with "Classic TGIF".

I can't agree more with this. The show was much better with John Ritter in it, but it was still good even without him. It took all of the second season for the show to find itself without John, but by the third season it was good again. It is too bad many viewers gave up on it after John's death. It was still better than any of the other ABC sitcoms. To think they actually canceled this show, and now they already canceled Hot Properties, Emily's Reason's Why Not and Jake In Progress already have been "postponed" for next Monday, and the axe may be waiting for them, too. For ABC to renew shows like Less Than Perfect and the others over 8SR is just a crime.

Less Than Perfect is good, but it's no 8 Simple Rules...It will probably be axed after this season anyway....I don't understand why the WB wouldn't have just picked it up for the fall of 2005. it would fit in well with their audience, especially with shows like Reba and What I Like About You...Maybe they didn't have enough money or something.....I'm not even that mad about only 3 seasons, i'm really angry that there wasn't a Series Finale!

OMG...I could not agree more with all of you guys....all of you have been saying all along...give it a proper ending. I mean the least they could have done was to bring it back on just to give them at least an hour long series finale. They could have done a whole other plot line with the way they left it off!!! They left it off that way for a reason though, probably because at the time they taped that episode, they did not know wether or not they were being cancelled. But I agree with all of you, It was not quite the same without John, but it was still faboulous. Katey Sagal had some very hard shoes to fill, but did a phenomenal job...as did the kids. They really handled it with a maturity beyond their years, they reacted excatly as they saw fit.
