Default Did you think the TRIO"S parents should have been in the Script?

I was never too crazy about seeing Janet, Jack, and Chrissy's parents on the show. To me it just took somethign away from the show when they came to visit. The parent I hated the most was Reverend Snow. Anyone else would have been happy if the Parents were not in the script?

I didn't mind seeing them. They should have just made one appearance.
Reverend Snow just kept coming back. It could have been worse you know. It could've been Jack's father with that dumb song.

I didn't like the parents being IN THE SCRIPT either, but I did like Reverend Snow, I didn't have a problem with him. But I remember one episode when other parents were IN THE SCRIPT when they thought the roommates were messing around with each other, I wasn't crazy about the parents. So I agree with you, I was happy when the parents were not IN THE SCRIPT

I wouldn't have liked it if they were regulars, but having just one guest appearance would have been fine. Although by introducing the parents, it does create the potential for plot holes later on. For example, if Janet's parents were introduced in one episode, then it makes you wonder why they were not present in the series' finale for such an important even like their own daughter's wedding.

I agree which is why Janet's parents shouldn't have never been in the script-lol

I agree with stella, one time is good to have them there, but more than that would get annoying. I did not mind Chrissy's dad, but her mom was annoying.

Probably because I'm a fan of Dick Shawn (the actor), he was a famous comedian back in the day.

I liked Reverend Snow but I didn't care for the rest of them.

Justin, you are not alone. "Sigh, sow, fly-dittle-dow!" I still sing that to annoy people .

I seem to notice in almost any sitcom that intro'd a parent, that they are NEVER there for the big wedding episodes. Which to the casual viewer is nothing, but to a continuity guy like me just annoys.

Also re: the wedding. Notice that Philip's best man was the pretentious tennis snob who called the will reading a "grab bag"? haha.

Jack's Dad was pretty funny but I wasn't too thrilled to have him on there. John seemed a little uncomfortable around him...atleast to me he did. I wish they would have atleast had Jack's mom on there once. He only talked to her on the phone.
