This sitcom is a spin-off of the hilarious CBS comedy "Still Standing". In this series we see that Bill and Judy Miller (Mark Addy and Jamie Gertz) have gotten a divorce after Bill has an affair with Shelly, a sexy neighbor played by sitcom vet Amy Yasebeck (Wings). In this sitcom we watch as now-single mother Judy must balance her career as a dental assistant with raising her children, and also dealing with ex-husband bill and his new wife Shelly, who has a four year old daughter of her own name Casey.

Meanwhile Miller son Brian is expierencing life's many firsts as he is a freshmen at Michigan State University, where he is dating a bright science scholar played by Rachel Leigh Cook.

Daughter Lauren Miller is expierencing turmoil in her senior year of high school as mother dissaproves of her new boyfriend, whos ten years older than her, and is still in high school. played by sitcom veteran David Lascher.

Youngest daughter Tina is expierencing mixed feelings as she must deal with her new step-sister and step-mother as well as her parents competing for her attention.
