At Breakfast, James and Florida were saying that they would happy if J.J was at the end of the line on Graduation Day just as long as he graduated. So if they felt that way why would they make a big deal about his report card showing C's but his homework showing F's?-lol They just said earlier if he got through Highschool that would be ok with them.
Inconsistent Writing-lol Classic James Evans Scene in this episode. The Principal was looking at J.J's report card and said"oh I see that Young James is doing Well" Then James said-"Yeah but Old James wants to know how he is doing it" LOL |

I am a college graduate and not even I know what happened in 1066. I agreed with JJ when he said that that information would not be useful in life ("is someone gonna say tell me what happened in 1066 or else I'll blow your brains out?") LOL! I think that Flo & James should have asked JJ a question which would be useful in life. Not some stupid history question that probably nobody knows. Damn!

James and Flo wanted JJ to graduate, but they didn't want him to slide by. What would he gain from that?

I know he did it anyway, but from James and Florida's perspective, they wanted him to graduate on his own merit, not be pushed out in a numbers game. |

Maybe or maybe not, but I agree with James and Flo on this one.

I totally agree with you Brian, that's why there are a lot of illiterate adults today because when they were in High School they were just pushed through. There's no way I would let my children get pushed through in school. And wasn't Florida reading from a test that JJ had just taken? If so, then he should have known what happened in 1066 if he studied. Just because a person has a talent doesn't mean that they shouldn't work hard when it comes to their education. Your education is a sure thing that you can always fall back on. I'm a college graduate also and I have the peace of mind in knowing that if I want to try something new in my life that I will always have my degree to fall back on. Since an education was very important to James and Flo I can see why they would be disappointed that JJ wouldn't repeat the 11th grade. If he were in my house when I was growing up my mom and dad wouldn't have given me a chance a choose they would have done that for me. |

But from Florida's and James convo at the table, they pretty much said they know he is a slacker and would just be glad if he made it out of school since he was more focused on his art and not the other subjects. Plus James admitted that it's taken J.J forever to get out of Highschool-lol So if James said that why would he care if J.J knew what happened in 1066 as long as he passed? |
