In the first episode, Andy hands an album to Johnny, who is half asleep playing some middle of the road song. Johnny gets excited at finally playing rock and roll. What is the first song played in the new format?

The first song Johnny ever played on the new format was "Queen of the Forest" by Ted Nugent, which has been replaced with generic music in the new season 1 box set

The "Hallelujah Tabernacle Choir" version of "Having My Baby" (plus Johnny's facial expressions while it plays) is just too hilarious.
I don't blame him for destroying the record as soon as the format changed.

It's a shame that both of those above listed songs mentioned were replaced by generic music for the first season DVD set. At least Johnny's facial expressions are still there though, which were always hilarious!

The generic music must seem strange but the WKRP characters' expressions were always priceless!!
